  Absolutely loved our week in paradise! We were upgraded to a garden plunge pool room which was a fabulous treat. The resort was quiet, clean, and the staff was personable with attention to detail. All the food was delicious, and it was nice to be able to walk to other neighboring resorts to have pool days and other food options. Overall would highly recommend Mi Amor!   Humiliating experience, far from luxury

  This hotel is a major disappointment if you’re accustomed to staying at true luxury properties. Starting with the restaurant/bar — they advertise a “continental breakfast,” but in reality it consists of one piece of toast, one cup of coffee, and juice. Any additional coffee is charged separately. The food itself was decent, but extremely overpriced, even by Tulum standards. The bartenders were friendly, though the bar selection was limited.The beach area currently has a significant seaweed problem, so the property looks nothing like the photos online. There are also no real lounge chairs by the pool. The only place to lay out is near the ocean, but the seaweed covering the rocks creates a strong odor, making it unpleasant. We ended up having to improvise seating just to relax by the pool in the sun.The rooms were fine, but nothing memorable. Also worth noting — you cannot flush toilet paper, which is not exactly what most people expect for a romantic luxury getaway.The worst part of the experience came at checkout. We were told we needed to wait before leaving because housekeeping was “checking the room to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind.” After waiting, it became clear they were actually inspecting the linens and towels. The staff then brought out photos of the towels with makeup on them and bedding that showed normal wear that can naturally occur during a stay, especially for women. We were then charged additional fees. It was honestly one of the most humiliating and uncomfortable hotel experiences I’ve ever had. A luxury hotel should never make guests feel embarrassed over normal use items in this way.This is not how a luxury hotel should treat its guests. I won’t be returning to this hotel — or to Tulum in general. In my opinion, the destination is overpriced, overhyped, and takes advantage of travelers. Our continental breakfast is the standard offering included with certain reservations and consists of coffee or tea, juice, and toast with accompaniments, as described in our menu and booking details. Additional items or specialty beverages are available separately.Regarding the bathroom system, as we are located within a protected natural area, the hotel operates with environmentally sensitive and sustainable wastewater systems. For this reason, toilet paper cannot be flushed, similar to many eco-conscious properties in the region. We understand this may feel unusual for some guests, but it is an important part of preserving the surrounding ecosystem.Concerning the charges applied at checkout, we would like to respectfully clarify that these were not related to normal usage or standard makeup stains. Unfortunately, some of the linens were found in a condition that, due to hygiene and sanitation standards, made them impossible to recover or reuse. As a result, they had to be discarded and replaced. Our intention was never to make you feel uncomfortable or embarrassed, and we sincerely regret that the situation felt upsetting.We also understand your disappointment regarding the seasonal seaweed conditions. Sargassum is a natural phenomenon that changes constantly throughout the Caribbean coastline, it can come and go depending on weather and sea conditions. We’re sorry that during your stay the conditions were not at their best and understand how this may have affected your experience.We appreciate your positive comments about our bartenders, and we regret that the overall experience did not align with what you were hoping.   Romantic getaway.

  We had such a lovely stay at Mi Amor. It’s quaint, peaceful, and incredibly beautiful.   My heart is full. What a stay!

  This was an amazing top notch place to stay. It’s quiet, intimate, well kept, with flawless service and truly excellent meals. We added a spa visit for couples, a romantic hot stone massage, and that too was wonderful. Finally, it was my wife’s birthday so we also had a romantic four course dinner on the beach, watching the sun set over the ocean as we dined. I absolutely will come here again.
