The worst experience for our last night in Mexico - We made a reservation online, got a confirmation email but didn't get a roo

I called the hotel on 10/06/25 to make a one-night reservation for 11/24/25. I just needed a room to rest for a few hours before getting on the bus to the airport at 3am. (The bus station is just a few steps away from the hotel). The guy at the hotel (named Johnny) told me to make the reservation through the Hoteles Kavia webpage, which I did. I received a confirmation by email and the reservation was supposed to be paid at my arrival. For my surprise, when I got there on Nov. 24th at 10:00pm I was told that there was no reservation under my name and couldn't get a room because the hotel was full. The guy at the reception was doubting me and questioning what number I called and who I talked to before making my reservation. This guy happened to be Johnny, the same person I talked to on Oct. 6th. After a long wait, he offered me to stay at a cheaper place (further away from the bus station) and told me that the hotel would pay for the taxi to get there. I refused because the point of being there was to get safely to the bus station across the street, without having to take a taxi around 3am.We stayed at the hotel lobby until 3am. It was hot because there was no air conditioner at the lobby. Johnny eventually left and the other employee that came didn't even spoke to us. The whole experience at Playa Encantada was really dissapointing.I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. My reservation dissapeared, the customer service was worst than mediocre and the lobby temperature was hot. I can't comment about the rooms because I never got to see one. There are plenty of great places to stay in Playa del Carmen. Playa Encantada is just NOT one of them! Not the nicest

Below average hotel. There was only one window at the end of the room but it faced some sort of dumpster. It smelled moldy and I believe that contributed to my partner and I feeling sick.The hotel is right next to a busy bus station so it’s extremely noisy. It’s difficult to get rest even if you sleep with earplugs. They don’t even give you water.It’s VERY overpriced for what it is. And I regret my stay in this dingy place. As you can see in my photos… it’s not good at all. There was brown splatter on the wall in front of the toilet so you make your own conclusions. A convenient stop-over hotel

We chose this hotel because it is very close to the ADO bus terminal in Playa del Carmen. As an aside the ADO bus line is a great way to travel in Mexico, fares are inexpensive, and the buses are very comfortable. The room was large with a king-sized bed, the A/C worked well and could be set to a desired temperature. There was a small refrigerator and a coffee machine in the room. Downside is that the hotel does not supply the coffee or fixings you have to bring your own, there is coffee for sale in the lobby, but it is instant. Breakfast can be included in the room price, but you are given a voucher and have to walk a couple of blocks to find the restaurant that provides the food. There was a pool to help cool off after walking around the area. Bathroom was a bit odd; the shower and the toilet were in the same small enclosure and the bathroom sink was in a separate spot. It would be better to have shower and sink together rather than shower and toilet. The other downside is that not all of the staff speak English, and my Spanish is at best poor! Basically, it is a good and inexpensive place to spend a night or two as a rest in a long journey.

Inexpensive Hotel with an Inviting Pool.

Nice inexpensive hotel with a pool. Friendly staff and large suites. Only issue was during checkin; showed up at 1 and was told it would be an hour before the room was ready. Showed up an hour and a half later and was told it will be 30min. Unloaded the car and as I finished I was told it will be done in 5 min. Which it was. Left me scratching my head on timings. Pool is big and very inviting. Did see a cockroach in the room but it’s Mexico.

We have been travelling through Mexico for 3 weeks and Hotel Encantada was the worst experience at all. The room was very noisy, the bus station is just across the street and the whole time we were listening to a machine announcing bus arrivals and departures. There was no balcony.The reception staff was absolutely useless, they were not able to help us, tourists, to arrange anything. Not even to advise where we can buy a bottle of water in the middle of night when we arrived. And the oxxo shop was just around the corner!On top of this all, after checking out in a hurry, I realized I forgot a shirt in our room and my friend forget her cosmetics. I immediately asked the receptionist to check and give it back to us. They asked the cleaning lady, she claimed to know nothing and find nothing. I believe I was pretty insistent and still, they did not return our stuff. So the cleaning lady or the reception staff either stole our things or threw ithem away and did not confess to either.I would NOT recommend to anyone to stay in this useless stealing place.
