  ⭐️ 1/5 – Beautiful rooftop view, but major water issues and poor service response

  Our stay was unfortunately disappointing.Day 1: The room had no water pressure. The staff’s initial solution was to let us shower in another room before the next guests arrived, with a promise to fix the issue that day. Later, while the problem was reportedly “resolved,” the hotel then ran out of water entirely for all guests.Day 2: Still no running water. The staff offered little help and seemed indifferent to the inconvenience.While the rooftop offers a beautiful view, the overall service and maintenance fell far below expectations. We were in town for a wedding, and the ongoing water issues made the entire weekend unnecessarily complicated for everyone involved.In the future, I would completely avoid staying at this hotel.

  Loved the Rooftop, Not the Check-In

  ⭐ 3/5 – Excellent Location, Amazing Rooftop Restaurant, but Inconsistent ServiceMy friend and I stayed at Selina San Miguel de Allende from Sept 5–8 for my birthday. While the location and rooftop restaurant were definite highlights, the check-in experience and room maintenance left a lot to be desired.🗺️ Arrival & First ImpressionsThe hotel is located right in the heart of the city, which is perfect for exploring. That said, it’s not accessible by car, so we had to park a bit away and walk with our luggage — not a huge deal for us, but clear communication and better service could’ve really helped. We tried calling Selina multiple times for help, but no one answered.Ironically, staff from a different hotel (where we parked by mistake) were incredibly kind — even calling Selina on our behalf. The Selina staff member who answered was unhelpful and abrupt, and didn’t provide any clear instructions. No effort was made to contact us back or offer support, even though we had an active reservation.🛏️ Room ExperienceOur original room had no windows and felt like a dungeon — nothing like the photos we saw while booking. After seeing how friendly and welcoming other hotels nearby were (even offering to show us their rooms with no obligation), we returned to Selina feeling disappointed.Luckily, when we came back that evening, a different front desk staff member was working. She was polite, professional, and clearly cared. After checking availability with her manager, she upgraded us to a better room right away — no delay, no hassle. Only after showing us the room did I mention it was my birthday, and she genuinely seemed happy to have helped make the experience better. Her attitude and effort made a big difference.🧼 Cleanliness & Maintenance • Conditioner pump was broken • Shampoo was thin and watery • Toilet wasn’t cleaned properly during the entire stay • Water dispenser in the hallway was empty for two full days • A used Q-tip sat on the ground by it and was never removed • Bed and pillows were extremely firm and uncomfortableThat said, housekeeping did tidy our room daily and left us two sealed water bottles each day. It would’ve been nicer if they were chilled in the fridge.🍽️ Rooftop Restaurant – Best Part of the StayThe restaurant on the rooftop of Selina was phenomenal — delicious food, great cocktails, beautiful views, and excellent service. The difference in professionalism and warmth between the restaurant staff and the front desk was night and day. The restaurant team really made my birthday dinner special and left us with a great final impression.⸻Would I stay again?Maybe — the location is unbeatable and the rooftop is amazing, but the front desk service is hit or miss, and the rooms need better attention to detail. If Selina invested more into hospitality and consistency, this could easily be a 4 or 5-star stay.

  One of my favorite hotels in the world! You are literally right next to the famous San Miguel Parroquia on a walking street that connects to the Jardin.Couldn't get a better location. The building is so beautiful & historic. The bar & restaurant are great! Good breakfast. Staff tries so hard to make your stay perfect.I've stayed here many nights before and years later, the staff remains so warm & welcoming. It feels like coming home to me. Best Rooftops in SMA! Both offering spectacular views. Some of the best views I've seen in San Miguel.Super comfortable bed, pillows, impeccably clean roomStaff went so far out of their way to get my allergy medicine in the middle of the night. Going to pharmacy & bringing me a box of meds at 11:40p. They were so helpful & caring.Jose at the front desk is so nice & willing to help you with anything. Everyone was lovely!My room with balcony looking at the Parroquia cathedral was spectacular. I'll never forget it! Thank you Selina!!

  Janet was very helpful, great hotel with an amazing rooftop and an amazing location, truly wonderful and one of a kind experience. Would definitely go again and repeat this trip. I loved it and the customer service from Janet was phenomenal

  Outstanding food, service was able to accommodate our big group including children. One of our favorite aposta we had dinner. The risotto and barbacoa were our favorite dishes, the view is stunning and would love to come back again with our group.
