It's a wonderful place, full of magic; it's truly the best hotel in Zacatecas, very close to the center and you can walk around it.

Quinta Real Zacatecas: Decent Accommodations, Nothing Extraordinary
29 Aug 2025
Our recent stay was quite average overall. Upon arrival, the experience was somewhat disappointing compared to our previous visit, where we were warmly welcomed with drinks. This time, with a larger group, there was a noticeable lack of communication—we were not briefed about the complimentary food and drinks included in our package, which felt unorganized. The rooms, while spacious, are in need of a major update to meet modern standards. The bar service was particularly slow; during the first night, with the bar nearly empty, it still took a long time to get drinks. The following day, service worsened—the staff failed to check in with us regularly, and we had to place our order directly at the main bar. Our waiter only came over once, which was inconvenient. Fortunately, we were there mainly to enjoy conversation and drinks, but the poor customer service left something to be desired. Overall, improvements in staff responsiveness and room updates would significantly enhance the experience.

Not worth the money!
26 Mar 2024
Disappointed with my experience 😩. We were in Zacatecas and planned to stay at Santa Rita for the week however my mother in law suggested Quinta Real due to it being a 5 star hotel. So we decided to stay half our trip at Santa Rita and end at Quinta Real (We booked the Grand Class King Suite with jacuzzi tub). So I’m not 100% bummed about the decision but definitely wont be staying at Quinta Real again. The location is questionable, room smelled dingy, bull ring not impressive, everything is pretty much original so old, and we were charged for 3 aaa batteries 🙄. The staff was all great, food at restaurant was good but the hotel is definitely not worth the price!

Old hotel, a bit far from the Cathedral, not worth the money

On the outside, it looks fabulous. It is partially surrounded by aqueduct and you actually live on the side of the bull ring. Our room faces an inside court yard which took away the view of the bull fighting ring. ( no difference if you stay in another non bull fight ring except for the expensive price ), Inside , you have a vastly different perspective. Same old baby with a diaper pictures in the hallways and room, the one and only old elevator doesn’t show which floor and when it stops, it shakes and rattles. The room has old and worn carpet, the room is half lit and to not bright enough to read . There is a jacuzzi but we didn’t use it. The jacuzzi is tilted away from the drain so it left a puddle of water. Every time we showered, we stepped into a small puddle of water left from the one who used it before. Our room on the first night has 2 steps between the beds and the bathroom so you have to be careful when you use the restroom at night . There are pigeons within the premise on the outside and pigeons do what pigeons do, they poo and they coo but you won’t smell it and you only see it on the upper floor if the windows are opened . Food ( I looked at the breakfast menu ) is expensive. For that price, you could easily buy 3 breakfasts in a restaurant near the Cathedral. The hotel is about 15 minutes to the cathedral ( good and bad . Good is you don’t hear the bell from the church . Bad is the distance, going uphill from the central area back to the hotel ). Not everything is bad however. I have to praise the lady receptionist and Andre, the men at the door that greeted us ( they are not always there . 2 or 3 times we just walked in without anyone at the door and the cleaning staff cleaned our room every day ( but no new bar of soap every day. We stayed for 4 nights and we had one bar of soap to share between 2 persons. Shampoo however is plentiful for me ).Another good thing is that it has a gym with a sauna which we didn’t use and bottle water and towels . People use the weight and left it on the floor but not one staff came and put it back on the weight rack. Even though our room is next to a staircase, it didn’t wake me up. The room is quite dark after turning off the lights . In the bathroom it is so dark that you couldn’t see the fingers. No morning light came in to wake us up.The bed was comfortable and of decent size. It has a small fridge but 3/4 full with drinks . If you drink it, you pay for it. We use the little space there to store fruit. Overall :(
