Great location , very tired hotel , 2 extremely rude male management

    rating17 Apr 2026

Negatives :- My opinion of our recent stay at Al Moggar Garden Beach Hotel Agadir in April 2026:- Previous reviews stated the rooms were tired but we went ahead & booked as website stated the undergoing renovations would be completed by end March , however the renovations had been postponed & the rooms were indeed tired. We booked a twin room & were advised to contact hotel to ensure our request would be met , FOUR emails sent & NO replies received & on arrival we were given one double bed. All credit to the reception staff , this was quickly rectified. Music was extremely loud from the main pool & it was impossible to sit on the balcony & carry out a conversation , thankfully there was another, quieter pool. Monday night was advertised in the dining room as Oriential Buffet.... they served hamburgers, pizza & bolognese !?!?!? Food in general was edible , ( breakfast was better than dinner) but most days European customers were not catered for . There was "Turkey " waiting to be carved , it more resembled a very grey looking pigeon . Tea / coffee wasn't available at the evening meal as the drinks machines were covered over . The advertised evening entertainment must only be at peak times. Two of the male management team are extremely rude , no eye contact , very little interaction with guests & do not move out of anyone's way if they are walking together in dining room . They could learn a few things from their staff , who on the whole were very pleasant, even the men looking after the gardens smiled & said hello to us when passing. Chef grilling the food on Thursday evening did not have anything ready when restaurant opened at 7pm , so we stood with plates in hand & were totally ignored . Very patchy WiFi. Occasionally the shower was hot , but usually tepid , towels were changed daily , however it was 5 days into the holiday before we actually got soft white towels as opposed to the very off white & rough we had previously. No female sanitary bags in toilet in room. Snacks bar only opens at 1pm , & coffee shop was unmanned for over 15 mins one day with no apology when staff did appear . They also charge what they like , we got the same order , 2 coffees & 2 pastries & the cost varied between 50MAD - 80MAD . Hotel room doors bang constantly, very annoying at night.Plus : Female reception staff, gardeners , 2 males from the animation team & lady that cleaned our room were very helpful , pleasant & smiling . Hotel pool & gardens are well kept & location is excellent especially for Marina & Cable Car. Agadir beach : The beach is a disgrace . Apparently the responsibility for the cleaning of the beach is handled by the local municipal services, who seemingly clear any debris daily , however while trying to walk along the sand we came accross , condoms, rusty can & lots of litter. Absolutely appalling, Agadir has definitely gone down hill , both in customer service & appearance.

    Unsafe

    rating14 Apr 2026

A man walked into the room while I was in there alone so I felt unsafe, I asked the hotel to cancel the booking as I wanted to stay somewhere else so I was safe. They promised to give my money back and then went back on it and they didn't give me a full refund even though I didn't stay there due to the safety issue.

    April family break

    rating12 Apr 2026

Hotel very basic, rooms dated but clean enough. Cosmetically however there was loose sockets, the bath and shower Very old. Room spacious however and large patio terrace. Cleaners in daily, towels were very old and discoloured.2 nice large pools, both freezing cold as neither heated. Activities available but engagement poor mainly because of weather. Toilets in public areas not the cleanest, some didnt even have locks, however toilets around both pools have been refurbished and are lovely. Restaurant had a good choice in morning. Evening meal was to be themed however most nights there wasn't much difference. Always found something to have. There is also a fast food place on site, food fab and reasonable prices.Location excellent, walk out back of hotel and straight on beach, couple of shops and lots of restaurants, also tenpin bowling nearby.Staff didnt really engage very much, they were polite enough but didnt feel very personal. We probably wouldn't return, however still had a good week away at a reasonable price

    Basic but good value.

    rating01 Apr 2026

For the price it was okay but not for me. The place is very tired and needs bringing up to date. Rooms were tired but okay. Food was alright but not a wide selection if you are used to European stays. Location is good but just felt a little souless, the marina is not exactly bustling either. Moved to Tagazout and the vibe was a million times more me. Depends what you are after.
