Good hotel but some things disappointing

    rating26 May 2026

Good hotel, located in a good area, staff friendly. Rooms a good size and clean, big pool area but could do with more parasols not enough to go around. Food was a little disappointing not much choice and not very hot, snacks the same, cooking to much and putting it out all at once, drinks ok. Ask for a late checkout the guy on reception not very helpful didn't even look if your room was free for one.Overall good hotel, staff but they need to look at a few things to improve on.Won't put us off going to Agadir again but won't stay here.

    Enjoyable for a week

    rating26 May 2026

We are just back from a weeks holiday at the Allegro and we did enjoy it apart from a couple of niggles.Let’s get the niggles out the way first. When we were given our room we didn’t expect a palatial room but one that we could relax in.The first problem was the veranda door which wouldn’t lock properly and looked like it had been ‘jimmied’ open at some staged. This made it very difficult to open and clock again especially for my wife who suffers from arthritis. Due to having a CPAP machine it’s very difficult to use the machine when the air is hot so I rely upon a fairly cool temp, the air conditioning didn’t work just a fan system blowing the hot air around. Both of these issues were giving to the receptionist in the hope of being resolved however during the week nothing was done and therefore we put up with the issueOverall the hotel provided all our needs for our weeks holiday, the staff in all areas were excellent and very friendly. I can’t say a bad word against any of them from the gardeners to the cleaning staff, the bar staff in all areas to the restaurant staff they all extolled The pool area was well maintained and always clean with empty drinks glasses collected at various times. The sports was well used and during the afternoon food was available in the form of pizza, chips, chicken nuggets and cakes. Towels were available at the hotel for use around the pool, a 200 mad deposit was required which was refunded when the towels were returned at the end of the holiday. While I was there signs were put up around the pool advising that towels were only allowed to be left on sunbeds for 45 mins and after that they would be removed, this hopefully will stop people leaving towels there for hours whilst they are away on a trip. The staff at the restaurant worked very hard clearing up after the guests, setting the tables and providing drinks. They always had a cheerful face even when confronted by rude guests. The food is varied and to be honest sometimes I had to eat European food as the Moroccan food was not appealing. The entertainment was, in my view, not very good. They worked hard around the pool but nothing happened from about 5,30pm until 9pm. The children had a singing/dancing period at 9pm in the lobby bar. Adult entertainment started again at 9.45pm, it stopped at 11 pm and to be honest it wasn’t up to much. I think the hotel chain need to review this area to try and update it with a fresh lookThe gardening staff need a mention as they like the cleaning staff, are often forgotten about but in effect work as hard as other members of the hotel staff. The gardens were well maintained. The rooms were clean. For children there is a hidden gem, a small hidden garden to the right of the pathway to the restaurant from the main block which is surrounded by guest rooms has tortoise in it, the most I counted was six. There is an entrance to the garden for people to get in. Overall I can’t fault the hotel which incidentally is part of a chain of ten hotels , the Barcelona group. From the hotel is a five minute walk to get down to the beach where an area of it was allocated to the hotel, there is no service there so just expect a sun bed and shade but nothing else. There is also a boulevard to walk along towards the marina and shops in one direction and hotels in the other. This was enjoyable. One bit of note. At times a coastal Haar forms, this makes it quite misty during the day and at night. This is caused by warm air hitting the cold Atlantic waters. It can be upsetting if trying to get that tan up!

    Entertainment team great

    rating22 May 2026

The entertainment were fabulous and brilliant. Nina and ema were great and really took the time to get to know us. They are a true credit to the hotel. The hotel facilities are a little basic compared to other hotels I’ve stayed, and the alcoholic drinks were not the best but the entertainment team really made the holiday. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Allegro Agadir, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for your thoughtful review. While we regret any disappointment with our facilities and beverages, we are thrilled our entertainment team left such a positive impression.
