    DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS..... soap and shampoo empty in the room the first day. TV controller didn't work. Only one bath towel in the room. The sliding patio door was unsecured (a security issue). Service was nice and polite but didn't take care of the little things. The location was not centrally located. The front desk day gentleman was very nice.

    They charged me fraudulently for a canceled reservation despite me canceling 3 weeks in advance (their cancelation policy allows for full refund if cancelled 24 hours in advance)I emailed them but no response so I had to go ahead and dispute it with my credit card companyRead other reviews and this seems to be their standard practice. I would stay away from them

    Beware of booking at the Down Town Hotel!

    Actually I did not finally go to the Hotel Down Town. But I feel obliged to share my very upsetting booking experience with them: they did not reimburse me despite I canceled within 24 hours and my reservation was for almost a month later. This is my very disappointing experience:On September 22nd, I tried more than once to book a room at the Down Town Hotel online. However, their Smartbooking website, rejected my credit card again and again. Given that I was unsuccessful, I then proceeded to book somewhere else. When I woke up, I found an email from he Down Town informing me that my reservation had been accepted. Unfortunately by then I had already booked an alternative.The reservation that first was rejected was somehow later accepted and to my dismay, was ‘not refundable’. I called the hotel and spoke with a very nice receptionist, perfectly fluent in English, who tried to have me speak with the reservation / accounting person, but the person did not take the call and asked that I send an email. I did send my email in English with French translation. I have not heard back… I have wound up losing 114 euros

    Wonderful location and wonderful friendly staff. Clean, comfortable, practical. Highly recommended if you do not need the glamour of an overpriced hotel. Near restaurants. Great price and location with nearby local market to see the real local life.

    Really friendly staff. They met us as we arrived very late and kindly helped with parking and our baggage. The on-site, underground parking is a definite plus. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
