    Just the worst hotel of my life.

    The room had a bad smell, it seemed that it was a smoker room, unbelievable. The swimming and the spa are closed. The breakfast was Poor under every point of you, and the cutlery were dirty. Beyond every imagination. And last but not least the hotel staff was rude and unpolite.     Not a 4 star hotel, despite the 4 stars emblazoned on the walls.

    This hotel was chosen by our Tour company as a 4 star establishment. Well it is not 4 star as far as we are concerned. It is in the New Town rather than near the Medina of Old Town. So apart from banks and some restaurants, including the usual fast food culprits of Burger King, KFC, Pizza joints and the like and some Moroccan Restaurants nearby. Inside it lacks character of Traditional Moroccan Hotels. The standard rooms are quite small. We were however given the key to a room. When we got there, it had not been cleaned or made up with dishes from Room Service from the previous occupants still on the floor. Just not on. We were then shunted, suitcase and all, to another room and instead of Twin configuration that we had asked for, there was a Double bed. The receptionist clearly did not see what the booking was for. We were then taken to a 3rd room which had a twin bed. The rooms are tiny, 23 m2. Just enough for 2 beds and a single sofa chair. There is only room to open a small suitcase. There is no way you can have 2 medium size suitcases open. Unlike many 4 Star restaurants, there is no Nespresso type coffee maker but there is a kettle and instant coffee. The rooms are soulless and views from the room pretty ordinary, just some houses and rooftop. The shower doesn’t have much pressure so takes a long time to have a shower. Thankfully there isn’t the dreaded shower in bath!!! The Breakfast is adequate but not inspiring. None of the dishes were marked so vegetarians would be advised to ask the waiters.     We were here for the beginning and end of our tour of Morocco as part of a Canadian group. We were given excellent restaurant service both times by Lalou! He makes the best mint tea but more importantly he went out of his way to make us feel welcomed.     Kamel, the head chef in the restaurant is attentive to your needs, suggests menus that are authentic, is warm, friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and all staff work diligently to make your dining experience memorable. I would return again, knowing that Kamel supervising from the choice of menus to the dining experience. His warm and friendly smile is inviting.     We stayed here for New Years in rooms 611 and 612, both had 2 single beds. The views were of other buildings. We didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment. The rooms had water, safe, towels, toiletries, TV.The toilet was separate to the shower and we preferred this. The doors had no locks though. The rooms were exceptionally clean and so well done to the housekeeping team.We did use the spa, it’s 300MAD for a 30 min scrub or massage and 500MAD for 60 mins.There is also an indoor pool with loungers, lots if kids were swimming and enjoying it.Outside there’s a small shop next door and an express carrefour about 5 mins walk away behind the hotel. I also saw a laundry place near the carrefour if someone was staying longer.
