    Absolutely lovely stay ..

    The riverside location was ideal, just off the main centre for busy/noisy restaurants etc. The atmosphere was calm, quiet, sophisticated and stylish. We had a 1st floor balcony room, extremely spacious and with a huge bathroom, kingsize bed, lovely contemporary Asian furniture plus a lovely view of the 'river!!!' So always something to look at. The price was perhaps a little above what we pay on average, I think, but well worth the increased night rate. Beautifully clean and ALL staff we delightfully efficient and kind - even arranged for a lovely taxi driver to take us to the railway station nearly two hours away. I would thoroughly recommend this jewel of a hotel.Only one negative, however. The management MUST provide small fridges in the rooms. A must for western travellers. We kept our milk (we hate creamer) submerged in water in one of the bathroom sinks .. not ideal. This has been mentioned in previous reviews so I think the management should take the comments on board and act. We chose to eat at a selection of lovely cafes closeby so cannot comment on the breakfast.I would recommend this lovely hotel ... sooo well worth a stay. Thank you 1825 hotel and staff.

    Decent Stay, But Not as Expected

    I have to say the hotel looks very nice, and the room was quite spacious and very clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. However, the breakfast was quite minimal and left a bit to be desired. Overall, based on the photos, I was expecting more. I would compare the experience to that of a typical three-star hotel in Italy.

    Great location by the river, nice view from restaurant not from room.Room has no great view.Regretted taken room with breakfast, not worth at all. Half boiled egg was rather hard boiled, plain nasi lemak without any flexibility to add sausage or ham. The kaya toast is cold. Had stomach upset after the breakfast.Unfriendly staff service was the whole turned off point. Especially restaurant fair lady staff moody face, inattentive, not pleasing. There are many other rooms here with similar or lower price range, better staff attitude makes staying experience way better.

    Enjoyed 2 night stay in inner room which means no windows. Room was clean and comfortable. No fridge. Room had safe for valuables. Easy walk to old town/Dutch Square. Lobby beautiful with koi fountain being favorite feature. Had to preselect breakfast from menu. Restaurant area small but pleasant decor.
