Has a very budget feel. Compact rooms even smaller than a boat cabin. No AC in the rooms. Where the staff work and in the passage has AC. Reported it to reception and they give you the BS of sending a technician. You cannot sleep with the window open as there is a disco opposite the garage and music is blaring all day and night. We arrived after 1.30pm with towels only arriving after 4pm. No swimming towels at the pool, you have to use the rooms towels. Small 1 shelf packing space (not a cupboard) with no hangers available. NB room has no facilities in terms of coffee/tea, drinking water also no fridge or kettle.Pool was good with the usual lounger hogging. Nice to relax on the grass for a few beers in the shade. We could not swim as there were no towels. There is a bar and you can get beers. Restaurant is overpriced for mediocre food. Breakfast was a bunfight. Long queues with only 1 coffee machine and food continuously running out. Limited food options for breakfast. You would do best to have meals in one of the restaurants around El Jadida. Location is the best part as they are on the beach. Parking was safe for our motorcycle. A short walk up the road and you have many restaurants and cafe.Staff at the reception and the pool are very friendly. The rest are looked unhappy. In future I would save the money and get a Riad which in our experience has been better, with better service and cheaper.

"A little gem in El Jadida, Morocco"

    rating21 Feb 2022

Excellent location on seafront - only 20 minute stroll on promenade to the port & "Portuguese Medina" with a nearby market selling fresh fruits and snacks. Ibis Budget is only a short 10 minute walk from a large Carrefour supermarket which also sells alcohol as well as foods. Ibis Budget staff all very helpful from Reception Staff to the cleaning staff who serviced the room daily! A little "quirk" was the locking of the room from outside - insert the "keycard" into the slot before closing the door - the door will then lock upon removal of the card. If in doubt, the helpful cleaning staff will show you the procedure! El Jadida still a little corner of Morocco that the European tourists have yet to "explore" as the nearest airport is Casablanca. There is a 2 hourly train service from Casa Voyageurs with a journey time of only 90 minutes. If coming from Marrakech, book a 49 dirham (£4) advance ticket (normal price around £12) on the ONCF website - not bad for 250km trip compared to the "normal fare". Leaving Marrakech at 1450, changing trains at Casablanca Oasis station, arrival in El Jadida at 1905 with some spectacular scenery along the way in comfortable air conditioned coaches travelling at speeds up to 160km/hr! These trains run every 2 hours from Marrakech and provide a through service to Fes or by changing trains at Casa Voyageurs, Tangiers can easily be reached on the new "Al Boraq" high speed service! This part of Morocco definitely a post-Covid relaxing place to enjoy +25° temperatures in February whilst the numerous storms bring chaotic scenes across Europe!..Thankyou Ibis Budget!

    Lack of cleaning

    rating06 Nov 2021

As most of the 20-30€ range hotels in Morocco it is not clean at all. Bathroom not clean, shower with fungus, floors with dust, rusted frames, the bed was clean…. It everything else was covered by thick dust layer accumulated through the years.Breakfasts was included in my fare and it was Moroccan which is good, but at least couple fruits options will be good to have. The staff during my stay had no idea about how to treat customers, and the difference in the treat with foreigners was noticeable (In the entire city I saw less than 3 foreigners/tourists, so they probably are not familiar with other cultures). Never disrespectful but with a distance I have never experienced before. It is ok to stay one night but check bathroom and complain if you see what I saw. I will definitely not repeat with them.

Location is good....but that is all

    rating11 Aug 2019

The hotel location is good, but that was it. I booked 2 rooms. One had the TV not working, the other the A/C. The noise inside the room was not good, because the window was not working well. Breakfast was very poor. After all the hotels and Riads i visited in 12 days, i would say this was the hotel that gave me the less good souvenir. But at the end, it was just my last night.
