Location

The hotel is located on the far end of the Medina, in the Sandillon district, named after the builder of the first windmill in Essaouira. It is next to the Squalla and the ramparts of Essaouira and is the only riad in front of the ocean in Morocco. Access to public transport is around 300 m from the hotel and the beach is about 30 m away.

Facility

The hotel has 45 rooms, which are located on 3 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk in the lobby is staffed round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. Additional facilities include a TV room. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car. Other services include medical assistance, a transfer service, room service and a laundry service.

Rooms

Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe provides secure storage for guests' personal property. A telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Wheelchair-accessible rooms can also be booked. The hotel has smoking rooms.

The indoor and outdoor pools are ideal for exercise as well as relaxation. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation.     Rude staff don’t go

    Staff here all had an attitude interacting with 3 of them. I found all of them in some way offensive or rude. I was also followed out of the restaurant to be asked to pay for a tea I didn’t order and then charged for hot water 20 dirham that definitely went into that guy’s pocket even though he wasn’t even my server. he was rude enough to say this isn’t your home - well hotels are supposed to feel like a home from home They really need to upgrade their staff training as it’s a shame since it’s a pretty elegant and well located hotel with a fairly nice roof terrace. Recommended to a friend not to go there.

    Beautiful scenery but noisy hotel

    This hotel has a lovely view over the sea and the only hotel in Morocco that has had nice soft pillows after travelling 18 days around a lot of Morocco. It also has a lovely breakfast with lots of choice and a nice Pool. I didn’t use it as too cold. The staff I didn’t find to friendly especially at front desk. The worst part was it was so noisy with the rooms being paper thin and hearing scraping noises constantly from other rooms and people talking and partying in the corridor and rooms. My bathroom had ants crawling all over the floor and some in the shower over the bath. My room had ants crawling lovely view from the balcony just a shame about the noise from inside and the ants. The bath/shower was run down with chipped tiles and rust. I also had a staff cleaner open my door when I was in the room without even knocking. She had towels as I didn’t have any. The room has a fridge which is nice.

    We stayed as a couple as part of a organised tour. The hotel is in a great location, right on the sea front. It’s easy to walk into the old town, port and markets. ATMs, restaurants and bars are close by. The restaurant looks out over beach which was nice for breakfast. Breakfast itself was okay with some fresh fruit, and usual pasties and breads. Orange juice and coffee was okay. Our first room was too noisy because of the wind and window not closing fully; we were able to change it quickly with no bother. No ocean facings rooms were available, we had a rear facing one with not much of a view. Room was clean with two single beds, fridge and free wifi. There is a nice looking indoor pool which was reported quite cold.

    My review so this is still Una from Ireland. A sea facing room has a spacious balcony where one can sit in sun and later watch the beautiful sunset. The staff are lovely. There is no alcohol so no noise or rowdy guests. The only sound is the ocean waves. Alcohol is available nearby.I've stayed in this hotel many times and am here presently. The food isn't 5 star but you won't starve!The location is perfect. It has a rooftop terrace.Rooms 105 and 106 are very good with great views of the sea and the islands.
