  Meet Romeo - Resident Peacock!

  My friend and I had a lovely stay here, just outside of Essaouira. Peacocks roam freely, which is a fun site. The pool was a bit cold for me in Oct. but others took a swim. We dine here as well and were happy with the food and service. The room was also nice, with space to lounge and a small balcony overlooking the pool.   An unexpectedly luxurious boutique hotel excelling in personal service

  Via voyage a prive we booked a 4 night stay, BandB. Our room was clean, well equipped with a very large and comfortable bed. Breakfast was a delight and catered for my celiac wife. We enjoyed 3 evening meals and 1 lunch too. Fairly priced the food was always tasty and served by friendly and helpful staff. Carole leads from the front and everybody we spoke too was helpful and polite. The grounds are charming too, wild tortoises everywhere, a peacock plus the more usual cats and a very friendly dog. The open air pool is well looked after. Clear water and heated to 18-20C when we were there. A little fresh for some but enjoyed by us both and two young girls played happily in the shallows.A must visit is the market town of Essaouira, the hotel organised our taxi and the nearby vineyard owned by Charles Melier.Enjoy.Thanks Carole, we hope to be back CAROLE H, Propriétaire at Les Jardins D'argane, responded to this review Dear Thanks to your reviews.   Lovely but.....

  We have now stayed here twice. The first time was great other than the pool being far too cold to swim in. We were able to drink our wine without fee, and the food was excellent.Second time without being told we are charged for every bottle of our own wine that we drank. We also took lunch the second time, which was priced the same as dinner, 200 dirams. This was by far the most expensive lunch we had in Morocco.So although the hotel is lovely, I felt somewhat ripped off at the end, hence the poor rating. CAROLE H, Propriétaire at Les Jardins D'argane, responded to this review Bonjour Je suis toujours surprise de commentaires comme le vôtre mais chacun se fera son opinion.Vous êtes surpris que l on ait facturé 50 dhs par bouteille il s agit d un droit de bouchon car nous avons eu la gentillesse de vous laisser consommer dans notre restaurant vos bouteilles de vin soit 2 par repas sachant qu en plus repas pour lesquels vous avez pris un seul menu pour 2 adultes.Quant au prix du lunch entrée plats desserts eau minéral est the ou café a 18 euro est le prix affiché dans votre chambre et dans le restaurant puisque vous nous avez demandé un pour 2.Lors de votre précédent séjour vous avez payé pour plats desserts eau minérale the ou café 15 euro par personne.Effectivement nous n avons facturé les droits de bouchons de votre précédent séjour car vous avez également consommez a notre restaurant et donc nous avons donc fait un geste commercial.Dans quel restaurant au monde pouvez vous venir avec vos bouteilles de vins ? Je n en connais aucun.De plus nous vous avons ouvert vos bouteilles ainsi que apporté des amuses bouches, nos verres à pieds et nous nous sommes occupés de vos 6 bouteilles vides par jour.La piscine est chauffée et couverte la nuit . La Nuit les temperatures sont descendues a 5 degrés, la piscine est donc restée en journée malgré la pompe à chaleur a 18 degre mais comme nous ne sommes montes qu' a 22 degre à l'extérieur le différentiel n était pas énorme.I am always surprised by comments like yours but everyone will have their opinion.You are surprised that we charged 50 dhs per bottle or 4.5 it is a corkage fee because we were kind enough to let you consume in our restaurant your bottles of wine or 2 per meal knowing that in addition to meals for which you have taken a single menu for 2 adults.As for the price of the lunch entry dishes desserts mineral water is the cafe or 18 euro is the price displayed in your room and in the restaurant since you asked us for 2.During your previous stay you paid for desserts mineral water tea or coffee 15 euro per person.Indeed we did not charge the fees for your previous stay because you also consume at our restaurant and so we made a commercial gesture.In which restaurant in the world can you come with your bottles of wine? I do not know any.In addition we opened your bottles as well as brought us food, our glasses and we took care of your 6 empty bottles a day.The pool is heated and covered at night. At night the temperatures went down to 5 degrees, so the pool stayed during the day despite the heat pump at 18 degrees but as we only went up to 22 degrees outside the differential was not huge.

  Loved it!

  We had a 4 night break here on a voyage prive offer. We stayed in the junior suite which was beautiful and had a lovely balcony to sit on. Room furnishings were tasteful and air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was very enjoyable. Fresh fruit, coffee, juice, bread and jams. All served on terrace by pool. We spent afternoons going in to town to shop and then laying around pool. We made use of the masseuse a few times and it was wonderful. We are at the hotel each night and the food was delicious. Have to mention the menagerie. Donkey, peacock, dog and cats all made for an interesting stay, with donkey trying to join me on my Sunbed! And Romeo the peacock settling down each night on our balcony! Loved it!   Best country side experience we had

  When you think of some off city travel, you imagine a lot of landscape and more nature friendly experience .. We where surprised with the staying we had there. Les jardins d'argane pushed the "Nature experience" further, they have friendly cats, chicken, donkey, peacocks (who act like a cat :) ) ... you really fell like living in some farm, but with the luxury of an hotel.
