  This Riad is a gem for anyone traveling alone. It’s stylishly puristic and located in the best part of town, but still surprisingly quiet.Highlights:• Atmosphere: Waking up to the smell of incense in the patio was magical.• Hosts: The French owners and the receptionist are super friendly and speak great English.• Facilities: Great rooftop terrace, varied breakfast, and good coffee.• Service: Very attentive staff; laundry service available for a few Euros and fresh towels anytime.I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a calm, clean, and friendly base to explore the city!Ce riad au style épuré est une perle. Idéalement situé mais très calme, c’est un refuge parfait. J'ai adoré l'odeur d'encens le matin dans le patio et la superbe terrasse.Le petit-déjeuner est varié avec du bon café. Le service est top : linge frais à la demande et machine à laver pour quelques euros. Un grand merci aux hôtes français et à la réceptionniste pour leur accueil chaleureux et leur anglais impeccable. Propre, sûr et très accueillant !

  An exceptional stay in a magical setting! This riad is a true gem, blending Moroccan tradition with modern comfort. The décor is exquisite, with authentic details like zellige tiles and beautifully carved wooden ceilings. The staff is incredibly kind, always ready to assist and provide excellent tips for exploring the area.Breakfast, served in the courtyard , was delicious, featuring fresh, homemade products. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and well-equipped, with very comfortable bedding. A special mention goes to the rooftop terrace, offering panoramic views of the medina and the Atlas Mountains – perfect for relaxing after a busy day.The location is ideal, just a few minutes from the main attractions yet wonderfully peaceful. I highly recommend this riad for an authentic and unforgettable experience in the heart of Morocco.”**

  Mean-spirited in the extreme…Riad Sidi MagFOUL

  A measure of any customer experience should be how you are treated when things go wrong. I was travelling in Morocco with a young child and had pre-booked this boarding house for our arrival in Essaouira. I paid for two nights and deposit was paid first, all done online as I was still in Marrakesh at the time. Unfortunately, we lost our belongings in Marrakesh including my mobile phone and all my cards. With the emergency and stress of the situation, I was delayed being able to reach the Riad for check in. In fact, we fell to the mercy of strangers to help us eat and find a place in Marrakesh that night.With help I called and email Riad Sidi Magdoul, and also contacted the Trip.com platform about my disaster. Riad Sidi Magdoul staff showed no understanding or goodwill at all, saying “the proprietor was unavailable” and therefore they could or would do nothing to cancel the booking. I fully expected to lose my deposit as I could not get to Essaouira in time, but these criminals took all my money for the entire two nights, despite the urgency of my situation and knowing I was with a child. They did not care at all. For this reason, I would like to give them no stars. I don’t care how great your accommodation is, if you cannot offer the least goodwill to somebody in a situation beyond their control, you are not worth a damn. They were and are disgusting to take all my money like that. I love Morocco and most people behave with decency and professionalism, but I will be sure to warn friends, family and other travellers away from this dive. Give Riad Sidi Magdoul what it deserves and STAY AWAY.

  What a beautiful Riad, everyone has been super friendly, helpful , knowledgeable and smiling. The hotel is lovely and clean, nothing is too much trouble. The reception staff go above and beyond to help and the lady that serves breakfast is always lovely with a good selection of food every day. Always welcomed with a smile.The Riad is very centrally located in the median and a 5 minute walk to either the port or beautiful sandy beach. Definitely recommend

  Excellent and welcoming Riad in the middle of Essaouira

  Stayed on 24-25 January 2019 after booking through Hostelworld.Staff were helpful and the room was lovely.Expected some noise from other guests, but it was pleasantly quiet all night.We had a very good night's sleep.The breakfast was brilliant:Fresh orange juice, yoghurt, pastries, bread, butter, jams and coffee.We would definitely stay here again.
