    Decent dinner. Appalling management

    rating30 Mar 2026

Very pleasant dinner in the Italian restaurant. Cocktails overpriced (and when I say overpriced I mean they were Mayfair prices) and weak. But the real problem was the arrogance of the manager (?) at the front desk. When asked to find a taxi after dinner he said No, we could use the hotel shuttle - for which he wanted to charge us ten times what a taxi charged for the same journey. That is not hyperbole - literally 10x. I do have the word to describe him.....but I doubt TripAdvisor would publish this review if I used them. Starts with a W and ends in R. With the thing a ship uses to moor in the middle.

    Stylish venue overlooking the city

    rating09 Mar 2026

Hotel Sahrai is a stylish and modern hotel set on the hillside overlooking Fes, offering a completely different experience from many of the more traditional places we stayed during our trip to Morocco. The views over the city are fantastic and give the hotel a calm, relaxed atmosphere.Don’t let the location put you off. Although it’s not right in the centre, the hotel provides a convenient shuttle service into town, and taxis back to the hotel are very inexpensive – around 16 dirhams – so getting around is easy.Check-in was smooth and welcoming, and the service at the front desk remained excellent throughout our stay. The staff were always friendly, professional and happy to help with any requests. Our Superior Room was beautifully designed and very stylish, with a huge comfortable bed and elegant décor. The room was refreshed daily with fresh linen, towels and lovely Aqua di Parma toiletries, which was a nice touch. There were a couple of small practical quirks – for example, the bath taps are easiest to reach once you’re already in the bath and the shower can splash a little onto the bathroom floor – but these are very minor points in an otherwise great room.A small detail we noticed was that only one bottle of water and two tea bags were left each day. That said, reception happily topped up the tea bags and provided fresh milk whenever we asked, so service was never an issue. We visited during Ramadan, so breakfast was very quiet each morning. The breakfast itself was good, with eggs cooked to order and a selection of other options. The service was attentive and relaxed. We ate at the hotel one evening when many restaurants in the city were busy, and the meal we chose was very enjoyable. The pool area is also excellent – a lovely space to relax with great views – although the weather during our stay wasn’t quite warm enough for much sunbathing.Overall, Hotel Sahrai is a very good hotel that combines modern design, great views and excellent service. With just a few small additions it could easily be outstanding. Would we stay again? Absolutely.

We did enjoy the hotel is really comfortable and stylish. The service is incredible attentive. The bedroom are large and the beds comfy and the bathroom are…glass boxes that are actually extremely nice. The hotel is in the Ville Nuovelle so no so centrally located but the views of Fez from the terraces are very beautiful…

A 5-Star hotel that doesn’t live up to its stars

    rating15 Nov 2025

Big disapointment for a 5 stars hotelAtmosphere : 5/5The hotel architecture is beautiful and invites to peace and relaxation. Other said, the architects have worked very well! But then, it is up to management to create the right atmosphere and ensure that the service lives up to the venue's standards... Which is far from being the case. Service : 1/5The staff lacks the right training probably. the service is too slow. We overheard the table next to us also having some troubles, not only due to slow service but also due to bottle of white wine which was warm. They shouldn't even have had to justify themselves further in a 5-star hotel; the staff should have immediately changed their seat (or even refused to serve them!). Instead, they had to spend a long time trying to convince the staff that it wasn't normal.Swimming pool overall experience : 1/5The so-called changing room for the swimming pool, is actually a dark cell. No light. Nothing to sit on. It feels like being in a broom closet. Not at all worthy of a 5-star rating. Toilets are obviously not adapted and too uncomfortable to change for dry clothes after swimming. The deck chairs are old and poorly maintained. and to get a drink we had to chase after a waiter after waiting for an hour without anyone coming to offer us anything... The pool wasn't heated. You might think, "Okay, we're in Morocco, it's hot." But the water was freezing cold. It's easy to see why nobody was swimming.Location : 1/5. very far from downtown and the Medina. and walking around the hotel has nothing pleasantI don't recommend.

Great hotel with the best service

    rating13 Nov 2025

Very nice hotel, with amazing views over the heart of the city. The hotel has a great rooftop bar where you can enjoy dinner and/or drinks. The rooms, lobby areas and restaurants were comfortable and beautiful. But the best part from our experience was indeed the service from Nabil. He was very helpful, professional and kind. We highly recommend this hotel.
