  The best budget hostel in Fes

  It's a great budget hostel for anyone looking to save money. The location is in the medina, 5 minutes from the blue gate but still quiet and peaceful. Everyone there is very nice and helpful. The rooftop is a great place to relax and the tea is delicious. I also booked a desert tour with the owner and it was an incredible experience as well. Thank you 🙏

  Nice structure, well decorated, but lack of cleaning

  The property is located in the heart of Medina, which is very convenient to do some tourism and enjoy the food in good restaurants (although, not the best at night). The rooms and common areas are nice, spacious, very well decorated, with a beautiful style. The staff was helpful to arrange excursions airport transfer.Breakfast was tasty and rich of traditional food.The price is very reasonable.The only issue (and a big one) is the lack of cleaning. The bed was full of stains and very hard to sleep on. Dust was everywhere. The bathroom was nice but as toiletry there were small already used soaps.It is true that the price is convenient, but this doesn't mean that cleaning has to be neglected. Regardless the price, it is crucial to have a clean space.

  When we got to the riad we were welcomed by the host and he was really nice, offering us tea and we talked a bit. He tried to convince us into taking the tours but we said we already had plans so he was not too persistent. Although one strange thing happened. We had already paid the room entirely through booking before arrival and the host said they have problems with booking and asked us to pay again at the end of our stay and we find that reaaally strange. We said we had the payment confirmation and ended up paying only the tourist taxThe riad is nice, but it's not great, not even close. The rooms don't have light bulbs, we only had a big light that was annoying to keep turned on at all time during night time since it was really hot and was too much light. One bed was rock solid and the other looked like a water mattress lol. Cleaning was good though. They gave us no towels throughout the whole time, the "mini bar" probably doesn't work since 1970 and was all dirty and rusty. The room had no view whatsoever, no a/c, not even a fan. The only good thing was the location and breakfast. For the price, there must be A LOT of better options
