    The Manager’s Disrespectful Attitude

    We visited this hotel with great excitement after admiring it online for a long time and traveling all the way from Turkey specifically to experience its beauty and atmosphere.Unfortunately, although we were never informed in advance about any photography restrictions, we were approached in a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming manner while taking a few casual photos. The issue was never the rule itself — we would have immediately respected any policy if it had been explained kindly.What disappointed us most was the attitude of the staff member handling the situation. The approach was unnecessarily harsh, cold, and far from the level of empathy and hospitality expected from such a prestigious hotel. Instead of feeling welcomed, we left feeling embarrassed and humiliated.We would still like to sincerely thank Omar for his kindness, professionalism, and respectful attitude afterward. His approach was the only thing that softened this disappointing experience for us.

    Wonderful Anniversary in Amanjena Marrakech

    We recently had 7 wonderful Days in Amanjena Marrakech. From arrival to departure all went very well. During our Stay we got superb service from Amine. He organized and advised our trips to the Mountains, Waterfalls and Souks in the City. He was available 24x7. The hotel is used by Instagramers to make picture of course. We could enjoy it. The breakfast and services all great. Our evening Dinners in the Marrokko traditional restaurant was a very nice experience. Being there prior season was great as we enjoyed the silence and relaxed environment in the Hotel. We used the SPA for Hamam and Massage which was an enjoyable and relaxing 3 hours.The rooms are clean and service is taking care of your privacy. They clean the rooms when you leave and not when they planned to. Our Pool Suite was the right choice so we had our privacy and relaxed at our own pool. While the main pool is also nice and was never too busy.We want to thank Matthias Seitenaden and Amine for being perfect Hosts with their entire Teams. This was another great Aman experience.     Billing Chicanery

    We have looked forward to trying an Aman for several years now. So we booked Amanjena for this trip. Unfortunately, Aman plays games with the pricing on their bookings at the Amanjena. They do business in Euros, but pretend that they are doing business in the host country’s local currency. They stole $200 through this trickery. Here is how they did it.They quoted us the price in Euros, but as a curtesy, they told us what that would be in Moroccan dirham. Then there was the footnote. The amount you will ultimately pay is neither of those quoted numbers. On the date that they decide your bill is due, they convert the Euros that were originally quoted into Moroccan dirham at their then imagined exchange rate (they do not use a published exchange rate, they make up their own exchange rate—which is very unfavorable compared to published exchange rates). Then based on that unfair conversion into Moroccan dirham, they convert the Moroccan dirham into US dollars, again using their own fantasy exchange rate—NOT a published exchange rate.We stayed at four high-end Moroccan resorts.AmanjenaDar AhlamKasbah TamadotRoyal MansourNo other resort in Morocco played this currency game. Every other hotel quoted their rate in Moroccan dirham and billed you in Moroccan dirham, and you can rely on your credit issuer to do the conversion at published rates. The more I think about it, the more this sounds like plain old garden-variety consumer fraud.Ok, they only nicked me for $200 on a $9,000 bill, but next time, it might be $2,000. I do not do business with businesses that engage in any kind of financial chicanery—and in my opinion, this is as bad as it gets. So, we have now stayed at our first and last Aman.
