Beautiful Riad But Needs Better Management

    rating24 Feb 2017

We stayed for 4 nights. At the beginning it was quite hard to find the place. Spent in the taxi for about an hour and paid 300 DH for it. Few kids showed us direction but had to to pay 50 DH for them. When we got there we were amazed by the authenticity of the Moroccan decorations that they kept. We booked for 4 night but stayed only for 3 nights as we went for a night trip in the desert. The room was cold especially through the night. We couldn't switch off the lights as it would switched off the entire power in the room. So either sleep with a bright room or dark with no power (which mean we couldn't charge our phone or iPad). We were not explained how thing works (lights, shower, safe, door has no lock)On the last night we we told to pay a service charge which was not told at the beginning of the visit. There was not set price for this. They would charge you with whatever suits them. We told them that we would need an early breakfast at 7 as we needed to be at the airport early. Waited for about 20 mins next morning but no signs of anyone. We decided to leave as we have to catch out flight. So we didn't get out last breakfast.

    Tourist Trap

    rating29 Dec 2016

Booked 10 days in advance on Hotels.com. Got to hotel at midnight after delayed flight and was told room was not available? Guy was unhelpful and rude. Did not take other hotel as seems a trick, also would not say how far it was or how to get there. After seeing booking on computer we booked another and left. Hotels.com are refusing the refund and have not given a reason. Glad i booked on a credit card, chargeback will sort them out. Not a safe place to be at midnight, plenty of people around trying to be your tour guide for a price. Riad will not answer phone to hotels.com and hotels.com are not helping me now. Just do not book this hotel, it seems it is not the first time they have done this.

    Not worth it

    rating14 Oct 2016

The riad has only four rooms. Here works at least six persons. We stayed three nights. At arrival the atrium was quite messy with a lot of leaves. We got a small room and was told to get another room the next day but we didn't. We could not get breakfast the last day at 6.45 a.m. Not before 8 o'clock we were told. It's odd that one of six persons can't be flexible when they have few guests. It wasn't possible to use the top roof because it was dirty and not in use. A pity! The staff were quite annoyed that we didn't use them as local guides.

    Lodge of Lies

    rating27 Sept 2016

Avoid at all costs. The staff in this lodge were continually deceitful to us, first by not mentioning the existence of an additional tax when we booked online. Second they offered a tour at a vastly inflated price, finally they lied about the price of taxis to the airport in order to trick us into booking their hotel taxi service. Reading other reviews it seems this sort of bait and switch behaviour is quite common. Also no locks on the doors!

    Charming traditional riad

    rating31 Aug 2016

The bedroom had a double and single bed, and sitting area with en suite shower room and toilet, situated on the first floor around a central open courtyard hung with jasmine, with birds in. So there was birdsong in the mornings. The air conditioning worked (it was 40 degrees during the day) The family that run it were very relaxed and friendly, we had orange juice provided on arrival, 2 sorts of bread with 2 sorts of jam and coffee and juice for breakfast. They organised a taxi to get us back to the airport and took us to the taxi rank - essential. Not easy to find if you haven't been to Marrakech before, as taxi access is not easy. Not super smart - the shower head was missing, not all the electrical sockets worked, but clean and full of ethnic colour.
