Very relaxed, calming atmosphere, time to switch off and enjoy! Rooms are beautiful as is the whole place. Great location and easy to arrange taxi's to collect you. Treatments are gorgeous. It's kind of like being in your own place.

moderate hotel, remote from medina, staff not very helpful

    rating14 Nov 2018

the facilities were good. Nice garden en pool. rooms were clean and beds nice. But very remote from city center (20-30 min) time I booked the room they said free shuttleservice. But when we arrived they said they stopped it. They offer (a very expensive) shuttleservce. ending up spending a lot on taxis. Besides that smoking is allowed in the hotel, and the smell also penetrates in your room. not nice.

Just less than half an hour in a private taxi arranged directly with the hotel itself we arrive at Dar Nanka. We were early, as we took a morning flight, so the offer of a fresh coffee was very welcomed. Nestled in private grounds, with the subtle fragrance from the Jasmine flowers we entered the main house, rather like a grand Cotswold lounge with lavender upholstered chairs and two stone hares proudly dominating the large wooden coffee table. Simple and chic I would describe the interior. Our room called ‘grey’ was a short walk through the garden maze of lemon and olive trees. A grand double bed, with a Moroccan walk in shower, separate toilet only partitioned by a curtain and disappointingly no bath tub, nevertheless a lovely room. The weather was turning so we could not take advantage of the micro bath on the terrace above, however it did boast a lovely view of the Atlas Mountains in the distance. Our stay was exceptionally peaceful as other guests were staying in the desert for the night under the stars, so we really felt we had the place to ourselves. After a traditional Hamman treatment we were feeling very relaxed. Food was average, but the service excellent and we dined at Bo Zin, a short drive away that evening which I would highly recommend, the food there is amazing! There was no immediate rush to leave the next day, which was lovely. There are two very friendly in-house dogs who happily roam their way around. It was a very relaxing retreat, but was time to pack up and head on to our next boutique hotel in the Palmeraie.

    Very peaceful and beautiful

We stayed here as a couple on the first week of June and loved it. We had a room with our own little rooftop plunge pool which was lovely (only note here is that our room was above where bins are stored which meant there was a lot of comings and going’s, little privacy and the smell and flies was awful at times, meaning that for some of the holiday we simply couldn’t use it). The hotel was stunning, the restaurant was lovely and food was delicious, the main pool was fantastic and it was so quiet and peaceful.I would say that it is helpful to speak some french but despite this the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. Also there is a mini shop that you can walk to if you wanted to get soft drinks etc.. which is helpful to know when you are out there. The owner had guests over when we were there, which didn’t bother us but sometimes you can get the feeling you are intruding in someone else’s house/dinner party, that being said this didn’t bother us at all :)The owner organised cabs for us whenever we needed them and the town is not far away at all, about 15/20 minutes and the taxi was waiting for us when we had finished shopping! Thank you for a lovely stay!!!! Philippe M, Propriétaire at Dar NanKa, responded to this review Thank you Georges. We appreciate your comments and suggestions and we will take care of it.Best regards

Second time visiting this beautiful place and I'm sure we'll be back again! The master suite is incredible - that bed 😍 We also love the pavillion rooms with their own little rooftop pools. Staff are wonderful and can't do enough for you! We had to leave at 7am for a trip and the owner got up at 6:30am to make us coffee and a simple breakfast, which was very sweet.
