Charming hotel in beautiful garden setting

    rating19 May 2026

This hotel is a one off. Convenient location, 30 minutes walk from the souks. Beautiful smaller hotel, full of character set in beautiful gardens. Our suite was full of charm but still with all mod cons. Comfortable bed, which makes a change in hotels these days. Small pool, lovely bar with good cocktails and Moroccan wines. Wonderful staff and service, and they keep the hotel spotlessly clean. We had an amazing 4 night stay. Would highly recommend.

Gem in the Hivernage area of Marrakech

    rating03 May 2026

What an exceptional hotel, truly a hidden gem in Marrakech’s Hivernage district.Despite arriving relatively late, around 10pm, we were warmly welcomed and immediately offered a table for dinner while our luggage was taken up to our rooms. As we were two couples, the hotel had thoughtfully arranged adjoining suites on a private floor, which was a fantastic touch. We were seated in the courtyard between the bar and pool area, and the setting was simply stunning, beautifully lit, with flowering trees creating a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. The level of service throughout our stay was outstanding. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and went above and beyond to make everything seamless, whether that meant organising transport into the medina or arranging cars for evenings out at rooftop bars. The pool and bar area were equally impressive, with a great atmosphere and generous piña coladas served in pint glasses didn’t hurt either. Our suites were incredibly spacious and well-designed, featuring a large lounge area, a separate seating section, a cosy nook with a daybed, and a balcony complete with another daybed, sun hats, and fresh towels. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom were equally well-appointed and very comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to return, Dar Rhizlane will be at the very top of our list for future stays.Thank you, Dar Rhizlane.

    Awful Reception. Felt Harassed!

    rating02 May 2026

VISIT DAR RHIZLANE ONLY IF YOU WISH TO BE HARASSED BY RUDE STAFFThey must have had a change of management or reception staff recently as our experience was simply awful. We had booked two nights in the Orient Suite - one of the bigger suites at the hotel. The hotel listing said it had a rollaway bed so we assumed it would take 3 adults. When we called the hotel to confirm this, we were told the bed was for a child (this is not stated on the website). Nevertheless, the 3rd party and I made an alternative booking at another hotel. We wanted to dine together that night so we came to see our friends at Dar Rhizlane. It was late and the restaurant was too loud. They refused to serve us in the lounge or the patio outside so we decided room service in a lovely suite was a good option. We were wrong. We were rudely told by the girl at reception that two of us who were not staying at the hotel were not allowed into the suite. We explained that we were not staying the night but only wanted to have a quiet dinner. She then asked for our passports. I understand this may be Dar Rhizlane’s policy – or so we were told it was. We were happy to provide photos of our passports as we were not carrying our actual passports with us. However, it was the manner in which we were spoken to and asked for our documentation. We are four successful, professional women but we were treated like college kids trying to score a free night at a fancy hotel. She even tried to prevent the main guests from entering the suite! The same thing happened the day after when I had come back with our two friends to sort our shopping. We were rudely accosted at the entrance by a lady from reception and another man. Again, demanding to see passports and questioning the number of guests in our party. We were wet from the rain, and they didn’t even have the courtesy to ask us to come into the reception lounge to dry off and have a proper conversation. Again, we explained that only two ladies were staying in the suite and I that I was only there for a short visit. I obviously did not risk carrying my passport into the medina – so I offered to email them a scanned version which I had on my phone. The lady agreed and went to get me a card with an email address. While she was doing this, my two friends started going into the suite. I stayed outside the door. The man accosted me again rudely demanding for my passport. This is when I had had enough and raised my voice at him, telling him I was waiting for an email address and to stop harassing me! For some reason, the email would not send – so I told the lady she could take a photo of the scan on my phone and she agreed. We went together to the reception desk and the lady instructed the rude man to take a photo of the scan. Instead, he decided to go through my phone! He also demanded to know why my iPhone Mail function was not set-up! I sharply said to him that it was my work phone and therefore my personal mail was not on it. After he took the photo of my passport scan, he rudely told me that visiting hours were only up to 9pm. It was almost 6pm then, and I snapped back that I would most definitely be leaving the hotel before 9pm. His response was “I hope so”. Needless to say, my evening was ruined. I did not feel like staying - even for a short visit - and left my friends. It was a shame as it was our last night in Morocco. Is this how your hotel staff treat guests and visitors? If Dar Rhizlane has a policy that people merely visiting guests who wish to enter their room need to submit a copy of their passports, please state this clearly on your website. If visiting hours are also only until 9pm, please also state this on your website. If we had known both these things, we would not have booked a stay at Dar Rhizlane. We will also not recommend it to anyone, ever.Note: We had asked for the e-mail address of someone in upper management who we could speak to and were denied this request thus this Tripadvisor review.
