  I stayed at the Holiday Inn City East Side from the 13th of March to the 15th and I will say that it was a pleasant experience. I visited Berlin with my mother and we decided to stay at this hotel in particular as it was right next to the Uber Platz where we would be attending a concert. The staff are all friendly and very very helpful and the cleaning staff do a fantastic job at keeping everything tidy so no complaints there. The only thing we experienced that stops this review from being 5/5, is that there is a decorated glass wall that separates the shower from the bedroom. It's a nice addition to the room, sure, but my mother and I quickly realised that when showering with the bathroom light on, whoever was showering was completely visible to people in the bedroom. All in all, a very pleasant experience and I would definitely stay here again.

  One night in Berlin

  Stayed for just one night for a trip to see a show at the uber arena. Great location, close by to lots of Berlin attractions. The hotel itself was lovely fresh and inviting. Staff very friendly. Room lovely and clean. Perfect size. Great shower and bathroom facilities. A buffet evening meal was included in our stay. The choice of food particularly all the salads were 10/10!Breakfast next morning was super. Lots of choices. I am always very fond of a buffet breakfast 😋 would certainly stay in again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

  Consistently Excellent Hotel with Exceptional Staff

  I’ve now stayed at the Holiday Inn Berlin East City Center four or five times, and it’s been consistently excellent on every visit. The rooms are spotless, modern, and very comfortable. The staff deserve special mention — they’re always polite, helpful, and genuinely welcoming.For English-speaking guests, communication is effortless as everyone seems to speak excellent English. You’re treated with real respect and made to feel completely at home from the moment you arrive.The bar has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and the outdoor seating area at the front of the hotel is a great place to unwind after a day in the city.I honestly can’t find a single fault with this hotel. Whether you’re in Berlin for a short break or a business trip, I’d highly recommend staying here — it’s one of the most reliable and well-run hotels I’ve visited.

  A terrible hotel to avoid

  A hotel to absolutely avoid. Let me start by saying that I’m an IHG Platinum Elite member. I booked three nights at this hotel for work. Upon arrival, I was not room upgraded, even though there were better rooms available (I had checked on the app while arriving by taxi). This was a failure on the part of your reception. The two ladies was very unfriendly...The room was ugly, small with a view of other windows which obviously took away any kind of privacy.In the evening at 7:30 PM, I went downstairs to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, but it was closed for an event. NO notice to customers.I went out to look for a restaurant, but the nearby ones were all full because there was a concert at the Ubet Arena. I had to take a taxi and find a restaurant further away.I wasn't in Berlin for vacation, but for business. I was tired, and in these cases, I prefer to eat at the hotel.On Friday evening, I went downstairs at 9 PM for dinner. The restaurant was open, but everything was booked for an event! So, again, I went out to look for a restaurant. Incredible.You sent two welcome emails. Couldn't you have said that the restaurant was closed?On Friday and Saturday morning, the cleaning ladies were very noisy and kept me from sleeping.Tired and disappointed, I bought a plane ticket and left on Saturday instead of Sunday. I spend half my time in hotels and need to be comfortable.On Saturday at 2:00 PM, I notified them that I was leaving a day early and asked for a refund for the third night due to all the problems listed above. The General Manager, Mrs. Nadin Füllner for these inconveniences, she is offering me a 20% refund of the last night, equal to €37…obviously I refused them!My company spends a lot of money every year with IHG. Since I'm the owner, after this experience, I'll be moving all of my company employees' reservations to other hotel chains!
