Fantastic relaxed week in a beautiful setting

    rating15 May 2026

We had a wonderfully relaxing week at Kasbah Africa. The setting is beautiful, with a traditional rustic feel, relaxed atmosphere - a peaceful retreat. The staff were warm, friendly, and always happy to help.On arrival, we were welcomed by Sofian, the manager, who took the time to sit down with us (with Moroccan tea) and talk through all the local highlights, which was incredibly helpful and much appreciated. He was always available for advice throughout our stay. We enjoyed the food & with half board, worked our way through the menu over the week. Karim and Wallid were fantastic and helped make the experience so enjoyable. One of the highlights was a guided walk with Hussain to a local mountain village, where we enjoyed lunch in a traditional Berber home, a truly memorable experience. We had hired a car so had opportunity to explore the area and even drove to Marrakesh for the day, leaving the car at the airport and taking the bus into the city. We especially loved our trip into the High Atlas Mountains, visiting the picturesque village of Imlil and the stunning Kik du Plateau. The rustic accommodation was clean and comfortable, and we spent time relaxing by the pool. We also had the cookery experience and learned how to make their delicious beef and prune tagine, which was great fun.Overall, a fantastic stay in a beautiful part of Morocco, highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing break & a breath of fresh air in the mountains. Marketing Riad Africa, Owner at Kasbah Africa, responded to this review Wow, thank you for this fantastic review! We’re over the moon that you had such a relaxing and memorable week with us. It’s lovely to read how much you enjoyed the beautiful rustic setting, the peaceful retreat, and the comfortable accommodation with the pool. A special thank you to Sofian for the warm welcome with tea and all his excellent local advice — comments like yours make his day! We’re also thrilled that Karim, Wallid, and the kitchen team made the food (and that cookery class with the beef & prune tagine) so enjoyable. The guided walk with Hussain and your adventures to Imlil and the High Atlas sound wonderful. Thank you for sharing all these highlights. We’re so happy you’d highly recommend us and would love to welcome you back anytime for another breath of fresh mountain air!

    Loved our stay here

    rating16 Apr 2026

We loved our whole stay here. Waleed and Karim have been so attentive and helpful the whole time. We loved relaxing by the pool, eating delicious food on the restaurant, and playing each other (and the staff!) at pool. The sky dome was lovely to stay in - you really do have a fantastic view of the stars at night - and the “ramble” (more of a hike) had absolutely stunning views, a really helpful guide, and a lovely picnic lunch included. Our only issue was on the first night when some local dogs would not stop barking! We would 100% come back here to enjoy the peace and quiet after a few days in Marrakesh. Marketing Riad Africa, Owner at Kasbah Africa, responded to this review Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted you loved your stay, especially relaxing by the pool, the delicious food, playing pool with the staff, the beautiful sky dome with its amazing star views, and the stunning “ramble” hike with the picnic. A big thank you to you for mentioning Waleed and Karim — they’ll be very happy to read this. We’re sorry about the local dogs barking on the first night, but we’re glad the peace and quiet made up for it afterwards.

A bit of a tired hotel, but in a beautiful and peaceful place and with lovely staff

    rating08 Apr 2026

Kasbah Africa is in a lovely peaceful spot and we went to enjoy a hiking trip in the mountains. Our guide was excellent - and the hotel dog came with us too! The scenery is really varied with dry arid red dust on one side, and irrigated olive groves and greenery the other. We very much enjoyed our stay.I would say the hotel is very tired though - rugs and towels are fraying, pillows are leaking stuffing, and we had some plumbing issues with the bathrooms in the berber style houses - very smelly and the toilet had to be reported as blocked/leaking twice. The food was a limited menu (same choices for dinner and lunch) and some not at all good. The staff were always friendly and welcoming and did try and resolve the problems. Marketing Riad Africa, Owner at Kasbah Africa, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We’re delighted that Kasbah Africa provided a lovely peaceful base for your mountain hiking, with an excellent guide and beautiful varied scenery.Regarding the hotel feeling tired — fraying rugs and towels, leaking pillows, and plumbing issues — we acknowledge these points and our team worked to fix the bathroom problems as quickly as possible. We regularly maintain the Berber-style houses, but as an authentic mountain lodge some natural wear occurs. The food menu is deliberately small to ensure freshness.Thank you for recognising the friendly and welcoming staff. We hope to see you again soon.

Lovely oasis at foot of Atlas Mountains

    rating28 Feb 2026

What a lovely surprise to arrive at Kasbah Africa, a stunning little oasis at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Soufiane and the staff team are so caring and attentive in every way with so little fuss or over intrusiveness. The vibe is very relaxed and chill but well organised. The bedrooms are attractive and comfortable as are the outside areas. Breakfast and dinner food is good - delicious bread and good choice for dinner. Our organised trips/walks were well worth it with excellent guides. Special mention for Hussein who took us on the most magical half day walk through the valleys and Berber villages explaining the amazing variety of trees, plants, herbs, spices, fruits along the way - wonderful! Thank you for a memorable stay and we hope to return with our family next time. Marketing Riad Africa, Owner at Kasbah Africa, responded to this review Thank you for this lovely review—we're truly grateful! Thrilled Kasbah Africa felt like a stunning oasis at the foot of the Atlas: caring/attentive yet relaxed service from Soufiane and the team, attractive/comfortable bedrooms and outdoor areas, delicious bread/good dinner choices, and well-organized trips/walks. Your special praise for Hussein's magical valley/Berber village walk (with all the plants, herbs, spices, and fruits) means a lot to us! Your memorable stay and hope to return with your family is the greatest compliment. We look forward to welcoming you all back very soon—inshallah—for more peace, flavor, and Atlas magic!

Thee best location thee most amazing people.

    rating13 Feb 2026

I am just back after a week at the Kasbah and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I hadn't planned Morocco but when I came across this hidden gem in the Atlas Mountains I had to book my trip! From the moment I arrived I was welcomed by the manager SoFiane, like an old friend and felt like this throughout my stay - right up until the minute we said Au Revoir yesterday morning. This is a retreat. A getaway from the busyness of life and a place where you really can recharge your batteries and leave the world behind for a while. The location is outstanding. When I was flying into Marrakech the Atlas Mountains are the back drop and I got so excited telling other passengers 'that's where I'm going'! The people are just wonderful. Some of the nicest I have ever met. SoFiane has a great team and the customer service is like no other I have experienced on my travels. Salah has become a friend and went over and above looking after me every day. Maj:d is a happy chappy and nothing is too much trouble. They really are exceptional. Zahra makes the best bread I have ever tasted - made fresh every morning - and taught me how to make it during my cooking class - highlight of my trip with her and SoFiane. Cooking Tagine on the terrace with the mountains as our backdrop! Mohamed and the rest of the team keep everything else going and the animals are so well looked after and a joy to visit. Fluffy the dog took me on a few walks in the valley. I'd have got lost without him! The food here is outstanding!! I had tagine, skewers, berber breads, omlette, bolognaise, a simple but diverse menu. Perfect for my week stay. There is always someone on hand to help with anything you need. Someone to light the wood burning stoves at night -an extra special touch I haven't experienced before. If you need to venture out on tour - this can be arranged for you no problem at all. If you are looking for nightlife and pubs - this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for peace, calm, solitude, care and head space - this is your destination. Thank you all for such an amazing trip. Marketing Riad Africa, Owner at Kasbah Africa, responded to this review Thank you for this wonderful review—we're genuinely moved! We're thrilled Kasbah Africa became your "hidden gem" retreat in the High Atlas: the outstanding location with epic mountain views, the peace and solitude to recharge, and the exceptional people who made it unforgettable. SoFiane's warm welcome, Salah's daily care and friendship, Majd's nothing-too-much attitude, Zahra's amazing bread and cooking class (tagine with terrace views—highlight!), Mohamed and the team's support, Fluffy's valley walks, outstanding food, cozy wood stoves, and happy animals all came together perfectly. Your words capture the heart of what we do: a true escape for calm, care, and head space. Thank you for the amazing recommendation—we look forward to welcoming you back anytime!
