    Great Spa services

    rating27 Apr 2026

Went with my mum for her birthday - had a lovely experience. The spa is a bit on the smaller side however the amenities such as steam room, sauna and hot tub are lovely. The best thing was the 25 minute neck, shoulders and scalp massage using Elemis products as part of our overnight stay. Victoria did an amazing job at making me feel relaxed and pampered and after the massage my upper body felt relaxed and tension free

    Lovely spa day

    rating24 Apr 2026

We had a great time celebrating a birthday with my family. We had a great spa day and lovely dinner. A special shout out to Jack our waiter at dinner who was calm, friendly and polite. He chatted to us about our card game and took our orders and payment swiftly. We really enjoyed our time and would love to visit again soon!

    Mixed feelings about our stay

    rating24 Apr 2026

Room was clean but the radiator wasn’t working so it was initially quite cold, however the receptionist was very helpful in arranging a plug-in electric heater, which worked fine. The shower requires a deep clean / refit. The food itself in the bar and restaurant was excellent, however the bar staff left a bit to be desired - it was hard to find a clean table despite it not being particularly busy, and we felt more like we were a nuisance than a guest (it wasn’t exactly service with a smile and when our food arrived we had to ask for cutlery etc., and then were just told which drawer it was kept in and we had to go and get it ourselves).Restaurant staff were much more pleasant the following night.Breakfast on our first morning was pretty good but breakfast on our last morning was a bit of a disaster - a big group had passed through and there simply wasn’t enough food left for everyone coming in afterwards. There was a shortage of coffee cups etc. and many people were asking for them but they just didn’t seem to be available. Staff were trying their best to replenish everything but there was just too much to do. I asked for a special dietary requirement but was forgotten about with everything else that was going on, so I eventually gave up and left with minimal breakfast taken. In summary it wasn’t quite as bad as Fawlty Towers, however there seems to be a serious problem with lack of organisation and oversight - certainly below the level expected of a large modern hotel. Perhaps we were unlucky and they were just understaffed and under pressure during our stay, but beyond that some staff members (a minority) really didn’t seem to care and were very lackadaisical about their role.

    Spa weekend away

    rating21 Apr 2026

We booked a spa package which was great value for money for the type of hotel it is. The spa staff were great very friendly and helpful especially the lovely lady with long dark hair. The rooms were a great size and the beds were super comfy. Our evening meal was lovely, Matt our waiter was super friendly and helpful and had great banter which made us feel very welcome and relaxed.Breakfast was slightly disappointing we went down at 8.30am (so it had another hour to go)And they had run out of mushrooms, hash browns and pastries. I feel this is a little bit poor as you should have the same selection all through breakfast. I was very impressed that they had a separate gluten free toaster with GF bread and cereal available. The one thing that let this stay down was the lack of information given by the receptionist and breakfast staff, we were never told what time meals were or where the rest was and in the morning the waitress just told us to sit anywhere not how breakfast worked. With it being our first time it would have been nice to have been told poached eggs were available if we asked and anything else we could have had.Overall a very nice stay
