    Beautiful and a great location

    rating24 May 2026

We are so pleased we chose to stay here - it’s an ideal location for going into the medina and all other key areas are easily accessible from the wonderful hotel.I often read about specific staff members who were helpful and friendly but I have to say that every interaction we had with the team at the Les Jardins de la Medina was a pleasure. The reception, bar, restaurant, house keeping & Spa all show a very friendly and helpful smiling approach to everything. There are many places we have visited that could learn a lot from the manner and demeanour of the whole team. Obviously they enjoy their work and always seem to know the right answers and deal with things speedily and effectively. The room…we stayed in a Sultane Double Room… beautiful, all to our liking and a wonderful private courtyard with sun recliners. Although in the Kasbah close to the medina it was very tranquil and quiet. The food was impeccable and the surroundings of the central main hotel area are stunning. Lovely pool, heated for the winter months was a delight as it was somewhat warm at a peak of 39c. We will be back as soon as possible. Thank you to all for helping my wife have the best birthday ever - her words not mine…. Amina Benhammou, Directeur général at Les Jardins de la Medina, responded to this review What a generous review to read, thank you for taking the time to share it with us. We're so glad every part of the stay, from the team to the Sultane room and its private courtyard, felt right for you. To know the whole team left that impression means a great deal, be assured that we'll pass your words on to them. We'd love to welcome you back as soon as your travels take you back to Morocco.

    Overall an excellent experience

    rating17 May 2026

Overall, we really enjoyed this beautiful hotel. We especially loved the spacious pool and patio areas and the poolside bar. When making our reservation, I made note that we would like to have a room with a balcony or terrace even though the category that we booked was not guaranteed to have one. They took note and gave us a room with a very lovely balcony that we enjoyed very much . The hotel is located on the edge of the Medina, so is about a 20 minute easy walk to the main Square. The positive of being on the edge is that we could arrive by car to the front door. The breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed very good service while enjoying starting our day eating on the patio overlooking the pool. Overall, the service was very good, with a couple of exceptions. We went to the front desk one afternoon to ask for a recommendation for a rooftop restaurant that wasn’t too touristy. The woman at the desk flatly said “they’re all touristy go to this one (don’t recall the name) you don’t need a reservation.” I was quite taken aback that she was so dismissive and negative and not more helpful. We asked again a little bit later when there were two gentlemen at the front desk and they made several recommendations, helped us decide, and made the reservation for us. What a dramatic difference in service from the different employees. Also, the mini bar refrigerator in our room was not working on arrival. We immediately notified them and they said they would send someone to fix it, but next morning still not working. We ask that they replace it with another unit and by the time we returned from our day’s activities we had a working mini bar refrigerator. Overall highly recommend even with the couple of hiccups in service. Amina Benhammou, Directeur général at Les Jardins de la Medina, responded to this review Thank you for such a thoughtfull and honest review. We're so glad the pool, the balcony you'd asked for, and those breakfasts overlooking the patio made the stay what it was. We genuinely appreciate your honesty about the moments that fell short: the front desk exchange and the mini bar fridge. They're are noted, they will be looked at and discussed with the team as they matter to us.If your travels bring you back to Marrakech, we'd be very happy to see you again.

    The calm before the storm...

    rating07 May 2026

Spent 4 days at this very authentic , tranquil , peaceful and charming riad which is in complete contrast to when you step outside into the chaotic and frantic medina . The location is pretty central to everything either via a walk through the medina which is an eyeopener or via a taxi which is a similar experience , every taxi journey seemed to be 100 dirham We went with friends , we had a charming but basic room with small port hole windows , it was adequate for the stay , albeit we had room envy as they had a lovely terrace. The service is understated but adequate , breakfast again is adequate , pool area is small and very shady , beds are available but not always in the sun . There did seem to be a strange towel policy or perhaps non policy ... 2 were left in the room , if you use them , there is no where to dry them as such , we left them by the pool in the hope of getting 2 new towels the next day , this seemed to be at odds to the reception who could not fathom our request . In conclusion , if you want to avoid the "chain" hotel and do wish to have a more local experience and not seeking all the "bells and whistles" , then I would certainly recommend a stay Amina Benhammou, Directeur général at Les Jardins de la Medina, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to write so thoughtfully about your stay. We're so glad the riad gave you that calm contrast to the Medina. We hear your notes about the room and the small details too, they matter to us. If you find yourself back this way, we'd be very happy to see you again for another authentic moment.

    Highly recommended, would stay again

    rating03 May 2026

Really nice place to stay, would stay there again. Very friendly staff, not too big so feeling a more intimate hotel stay without being too small. Good amenities with restaurant, bar and pool. We had a nice corner room on the ground floor. Amina Benhammou, Directeur général at Les Jardins de la Medina, responded to this review It's lovely to read that the size and atmosphere of the riad felt right for you. That intimate feeling is something we care a lot about. We're so glad you enjoyed the team, the room and the place as a whole. Whenever you're back in Marrakech, we'd be very happy to see you again.

A wonderful oasis in the busy Medina

    rating22 Apr 2026

We stayed for 4 nights in April 2026. Les Jardins de la Medina is not the cheapest place to stay in Marrakesh, but it's hard to think of anywhere better. Located in the slightly quieter southern end of the medina, it's still within walking distance of Jmaa el Fna and most of the main cultural sites. Its traditional courtyard riad style makes it quiet, and the central gardens are beautiful, and offer respite from the full-on experience of the busy souks and alleys of the medina. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, with a good range of Moroccan and international choices. Our solarium rooms were comfortable and clean, and the provision of mineral water was a nice touch, as was the choice of pillow scents. All the staff, from the front desk to the restaurant and domestic staff were delightful - friendly and professional. We recommend les Jardins de la Medina without reservation. Amina Benhammou, Directeur général at Les Jardins de la Medina, responded to this review What a thoughtful review to read, thank you for taking the time! We're so pleased the riad gave you that respite from the Medina, and that the small touches in the rooms felt right. To know you'd recommend us without reservation, after four nights with us, means a lot. We'd be very happy to see you again.
