    Newly modeled and close to Dayton

    My first time staying at the new Doubletree was a good one. I was in town with family to visit University of Dayton. The hotel closest to campus was sold out / overpriced, so this Beavercreek/Fairborn area seemed like the next best location.You could tell the rooms were recently renovated. Everything was clean and modern. My favorite part was the glassed in shower with a push button shower head that easily allowed you to switch from rainfall to something with more pressure to better rinse shampoo out of your hair. It also seemed that the designers of these rooms actually solicited feedback from females, as there were some convenient features that are often lacking - a larger shelf in the shower that fit all my toiletries, a separate lighted makeup mirror in the bathroom, etc. I appreciated having a fridge and microwave in the room, and the warm cookies on check-in are always a bonus. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. I read some complaints about noise, and I am usually sensitive to this, but I didn’t experience any noise or disruptions from other guests. This was a pleasant surprise!There was one hiccup with the mobile check-in / upgrade option, but it was resolved to my satisfaction. Initially I reserved two king rooms. When it was time to check in on the app a day or two before arrival, the app showed a paid upgrade was available. I opted to upgrade 1 room to a king suite for a surcharge. At noon on the day of check-in, I received notification that my card was charged. I was waiting for the text that indicated my rooms were ready, but I did not receive any. Finally, we showed up to grab our keys around 5:30, and I noticed she wrote different room numbers on the keys than what I selected on the app. When I questioned it, she said the room I reserved was not clean, and they did not have any other suites available (there are only 2 suites total). I was disappointed, especially since we were checking in after 4pm, but I asked that I not be charged for the upgrade. I was worried there would be an issue with this, but when I received my final bill, it was about $50 less than what I had originally booked without the upgrade. I felt that was a nice consolation prize. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others and will stay here again (I already have reservations to come back in May).

    Our mother was at Soin Kettering hospital and we didn't know when the end would come. Double Tree Fairborn let us add day by day. When the end finally came they provided a conference room for us to gather for free for a couple of hours. They comped our breakfast 4 out of 7 days. We were so grateful.

    Former Holiday Inn. It was nice to see the work being put in to upgrade/update hotel. Our room was great and the updates were nicely done. I’ve stayed at updates hotels before and they usually shortcut it and the updates are poorly done, not here though! Only issues were that the walls/doors are extremely thin so you hear everything! Our room had adjoining room doors on either side of the room. You could see light under the doors so it wasn’t hard to understand why I heard our neighbors phone conversation. She had it on speaker and it was annoying. Also, the doors slam super loudly!! Every time someone nearby closed their room door we jumped. If we weren’t sandwiched in the middle it probably would have been better. Oh and the toilet frightened me, it was a little loud and I was afraid it wasn’t going to flush, but it did. Besides the noisy neighbors this was a nice stay.     Was ok with some issues and will be better once renovated.

    From the moment we walked in , we had issues. Check In was not ready until after 330 pm. We waited an hour along with other people from our group! Our room was very old on first floor and refrig did not work so we had to wait to get it exchanged. Ask for a renovated room. Heard many who got them and they had all new furnishings! The full 3 nights there, no room service! Even when I asked for it, nothing! Had to ask for towels and more toilet paper every day and dump my own trash! It is walkable to 2 shopping strips with mostly restaurants in them. There is a bar and small restaurant but we didnt eat there. $14.95 for breakfast buffet ( discounted to 10 for our group) Indoor pool was ok.     This hotel was previously a different brand and is now a doubletree. I stayed in one of the newly remodeled rooms and they are amazing.
