    Watch out for the motor bikes

    Ideal location , pretty hotel stayed on ground floor room 2 Saffron room , no windows but wasn’t a problem we only sleep in there so was nice a dark great nights sleep . Large bathroom , breakfast was basic and simple served around the pool but a must to have to start your day , staff were lovely from day 1 till we left , beds made clean towels. Very busy outside motorbikes everywhere have eyes in back off your head, more so in the markets gets very crowded in there at times , squares are lovely time to relax and have a coffee and watch the world go by , no hassle from anyone if anyone comes up to you just politely say no and they move on Found a lovely rooftop restaurant what with the weather being lovely lunch and a cold bottle of Casablanca beer,we did 3 tours which were ok just wish we had did the mountain one but ran out off time . Exchange your Monday in Marrakech airport there and back if you have any left

    Stayed0302/2026 for three nights. Booked a taxi through holiday extras, it was a smooth and easy transfer from airport to riad. Taxi dropped us off at the top of an alley and had a short walk . Greeted by a nice lady who offered us mint tea before taking us to our room. Room was clean, spacious and very traditional. It was cleaned daily and replenished with fresh towels. Bear in mind there is no kettle or hair dryer, there is body wash and shampoo in the bathroom. Breakfast is served between 8am and 10am. It consisted of yogurt, bread, jams, butter, cake and either a fried egg or a crumpet like pancake. The roof terrace was a lovely place to relax, unfortunately no views as the walls were too high. The staff were warm and friendly. If your looking for a traditional experience in Marrakech I would recommend staying here. If we were to visit the city again I would rebook.

    It would be very hard to locate so advise you get a taxi from the airport. Exit arrivals and taxi booking booth is on the right. Pay there (150 MDM) and they give you a ticket to show at the taxi waiting area up the slope across the way. Taxi driver will call a head and riad guy will be outside to meet you. Riad will book taxi for return journey,Accommodation basic but more than suitable for visiting Marrakesh. It is centrally located and easy walking to main attractions. Room has no tv or kettle or hair drier.Breakfast is basic but more than adequate for Marrakesh.Staff are welcoming and friendly.The roof terrace is magnificent. Take a look.Perfectly safe to walk around the city. Just be careful of mopeds that speed around but you soon get used to them and realize no danger. Be brave crossing the roads.

    DO NOT BOOK a private tour through this hotel , the guide was disinterested, rushed and on his phone most of the timeHOWEVER The hotel is nice, it’s definitely 2 star, but the rooms are spacious, the bed is super comfortable and the staff are lovely Marrakesh is not pretty, mostly motorbikes and dustBut.. the food is brilliant, we’ve really enjoyed that part, the rooftop restaurant next to the hotel serves delicious food The old town which is 2 minutes from the hotel is a winding maze of streets leading to the square…We have been lost every time we have been, (don’t be conned by people wanting to help you find your way, they just want money and don’t help at all)

    We are just back from a three night break in Marrakesh which we absolutely loved a wonderful city. Riad Alida is located conveniently for the Souk a short 5 minute walk and the main square and the wonderful Mosque. We stayed half board not something we would normally do but only did because we went with friends who had already booked the break before we did. The food was good but very samey you can only have so many Tagines! The breakfast was again OK but very samey and no offer of fruits which I thought strange? The room we had was very Rustic with no windows and was extremely dark and not really to our taste. The room number was 2 on the ground floor. Our friends room on the first floor was so much better. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely visit Marrakesh again but not at Riad Alida
