  Excellent base for exploring Marrakech

  We were really impressed by this riad. Very friendly owner. Lovely breakfasts - super Berber omelettes. And we had an evening meal there on our last evening which was delicious and beautifully served in a lovely room. We also enjoyed the walk into the main square through the fascinating streets there.

  Careful if fully booked: the riad has an awful overflow room not even listed on their website.

  My wife and I were given a room on the top floor adjacent to the breakfast area. The room does not even show on their website. It was marginally larger than the bed, the bathroom reeked of sewage and it had windows onto the street, which even when shut, allowed a great deal of noise. Needless to stay, we refused to stay. We were told that even though we had made a prior reservation, a large group had checked in two days earlier occupying all the normal rooms; perhaps they are wonderful but ours was not. They found us a room at another riad nearby, offering us a better room if we returned for our second night. We declined as we felt they had been trying to take advantage of us and the other riad was more that adequate.

  We stayed here as a group of UK travellers after a somewhat arduous trip in the high Atlas and Sahara regions of Morocco. The tour we’d been on had been a week of cold weather, rain, flooded roads and snow blocked mountain passes. Apart from one family, the whole group missed their flights and consequently the tour company booked us all into Riad Berta for the night before our rescheduled flights.So, after such a challenging week and a 12 hour bus ride back to Marrakech, to arrive here was like a gift from Allah. The staff were fantastic, and were so friendly and hospitable considering how grumpy we all were when we landed!The rooms were beautiful: immaculately clean with the comfiest of duvets. Breakfast was a feast with a huge selection of fruits, cereals and pastries. WiFi great throughout with different routers to ensure there was a good reception on each floor.Hopefully one day we will return to Marrakech and if we do we will without doubt stay at the Riad Berta.Thank you for making the final day of our stay so memorable xxxxx

  Stayed one night at the end of small group tour from UK.Good quuality furniture and furnishings.Traditional Riad layout around central coutyard.Rooftop terrace used for restaurant .Sliding roof over central area,trees grow up.Breakfast offering everything one could dream of,and the choices just kept coming!Would have given it 5 stars but I disliked the layout of the bathroom in that all the windows open onto the internal balcony/walkways.These windows can be opened,the internal shutters can be closed over them,The window in the bathroom is at waistheight ,and if using the bathroom it is necessary to close the window and the internal wooden shutter.English and French spoken.Wifi good

  We spent a week in this brand new, traditionally furnished, and very cosy Riad and it was amazing. The rooms were very clean every single day, the staff were as welcoming as ever, helpful and beyond polite. The breakfast was exquisite, with various specialities each day. So was dinner, the traditional Tajine was so tasteful we all finished our plates.A special thanks to Mr Mohamed, Mr Abdou & Miss Khadija.Our stay was to remember and we will definitely be coming back !
