    Lovely, convenient, characterful and friendly.

I’ve just returned from a fabulous stay in this gorgeous little Riad. Full of colour and traditional Moroccan character, the perfect setting in the medina, so convenient and close to everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were friendly and helpful, special mention to Asdeen! Breakfast was a selection of local pastries (savoury and sweet) a fruit salad or oats with fruit, fresh juice, Moroccan mint tea and coffee. Very carb heavy, but plentiful and tasty. Our rooms had everything we needed, including toiletries, a bath robe, safe, and the absolutely essential aircon! I would definitely recommend this Riad to anyone and will definitely be going back.

    Traditionally pretty

An excellent venue and we'd be happy to stay again. There seem to be only 2 very hard working hosts and they are lovely people happy to help day or night. The rooms feel a little claustrophobic due to a lack of natural sunlight and vibrantly colourful room. The bed is very hard be warned. The room was exceptionally clean all the time. The riad, rooms and bathrooms are beautiful you will not find somewhere similar. Breakfast is simple and very well presented. The location could not be better. Close enough to the main square but not on a major street full of mopeds and donkeys.Wonderful place would stay again

    Quaint Riad

    rating17 Jun 2022

A haven of peace tucked away from the Medina. We arrived very late due to our flight being delayed and were welcomed with mint tea whilst completing the paperwork. Once the necessary forms were completed we wanted to go to our room straight away but were told 'not yet' as the road guardian talked us through various tours and spa packages associated with the Riad, we were too tired to take any of this in and found this a bit irritating. We were asked what time we would like breakfast which is served between 8am and 10am and then showed our room. The room was beautifully decorated, but had a lot of furniture and we had to move a few things around to be able to get from the bed to the bathroom in the night without crashing into things. The wooden doors to the room and window shutters were rather flimsy so it didn't feel very private. The room was very dim and no natural daylight could be seen until you open the doors where you could see daylight through the plastic roof over the interior courtyard. The room was also stuffy but the air conditioning worked a treat once you figure out how it works. The water from the hot tap was scalding hot but easily rectified by turning the cold water tap on. Good shower above the elaborate mosaic tiled bath. Breakfast was very beige with lots of pastry, but they were delicious. As coffee lovers the one small pot was not sufficient and it took a long time to get more. Brush up on your French as their English is limited, but we did manage to communicate. We bought a bottle of water at the cost of two Euros which is thrice the price than the shops in the medina. You also need to pay a tourist tax which was around 160 MAD for three nights. The riad is tricky to find but once you get used to navigating it's close to all the action. There's no key to get in the main entrance and you have to knock to get in but the guardian is always available to let you in and I wondered if he ever slept as we were in and out all hours. Overall a pleasant authentic experience of staying in a Riad.

    Riad blue du sud

A beautiful and welcoming riad. This place felt like an oasis of peace in a very hectic city. The riad is ideally situated near all the main attractions but in a calm side street. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. The breakfast was amazing and slightly different each morning.Would we stay again, definitely! Thanks so much for making our stay in Marrakech so special.

A slice of calm in the hectic medina

    rating15 Apr 2020

I stayed at Bleu Du Sud over the new years break. The riad is a bit off the main drag (in fact my porter got extremely lost on his way!), but the isolation means you are close to the action of the medina while not listening to shouting touts and motorbikes. I never felt unsafe walking back as a solo female, even late at night. The staff was wonderful and went out of their way to make sure I was cared for, arranging service to the airport, making me breakfast packs when I had very early tours, assisting me with translation during a dispute over some carpets I bought, even allowing me to check out a bit late because I was having trouble packing up all my lovely purchases. Room was beautiful and had tons of space for placing bags and stretching out. Housekeeping kept everything immaculate, which can't be easy with so much fabric. The only downside was the spotty wifi on the 2nd floor, but I didn't come to Morocco to read twitter! I will definitely be staying again when I return to Marrakesh!
