We enjoyed the Riad Dar Essalem.

    rating10 May 2023

We enjoyed this riad. The decor is so beautiful: like an islamic palace. The concierge Soumia was so helpful and charming to talk to. The restaurant was excellent with fabulous music, dancers, and a party atmosphere. There is no elevator however to the rooms.

Explore Marrakesh from this very nice riad

    rating11 Dec 2022

Super friendly reception and contacts throughout our stay. Some nice surprises upon arrival (fresh mint tea, fruit in the chambers, complementary water). Beautiful rooms with safe. The place oozes authenticity. There is a very lively and recommended restaurant with the same name in the same building (which dates back to the 17th century). The riad is about 300 meters from the place Mellah (where taxi needs to drop you off, easy walk with luggage but beware of the scooters). Being in the Medina obviously will bring some street noises in the room (earplugs did the trick). The breakfast is served elegantly in the central room with fresh mint tea and juice, croissants, scrambled eggs, Moroccan breads ( such as delicious msemen). Great experience.

Words can’t describe how beautiful this place is and how friendly the staff were. Close to many attractions and super clean. The restaurant is spectacular with their shows every night. Somayeh, Iman and Abul Fattah (staff member) treat you like family member. Will definitely recommend and return back to the same placeThank you Dar Essalam you made one of our greatest memories Thank you very much

Oriental fantasy right at the Medina with wonderful staff

    rating17 Feb 2020

Stayed at this incredible place that looks as if it was right off a fantasy book. It is a small riad smack in a good place at the Medina, near all major attractions. The suites are all different but all very beautiful- we stayed in four of the five available. The staff was super kind and went out of their way to help us with all our needs, I can't thank them enough. The rooms were spacious with AC and hair dryers and water and fruits or sweets on reception. There is a rooftop terrace, and one of the rooms has its own private terrace. There is an adjacent restaurant where a scene from The Man Who Knew Too Much ( Hitchcock) was filmed. Of course being a riad there are stairs.. that is the only thing..but keeps u fit. Breakfast was good for me- I prefer continental breakfasts but if u want an omelette or something else you have just to ask..a very good experience.

    Good room, bad communication

    rating01 Feb 2020

The room was beautiful, we had a private terrace and access to the roof terrace to watch the sunset which I recommend. The location is great for exploring the medina or going outside to catch a cab. When we arrived, the staff informed us they needed me to sign so they could charge my card for the stay, I told them I had already paid via PayPal, and she said it was for taxes. On checkout, they said they were charging my room to the card and that we still needed to give 110dh for the taxes. They told me they do not accept PayPal so it wasn't possible I paid them. I have receipt that says I did. They also refused to give a receipt when we paid cash for the taxes. The breakfast was also odd, we received just bread, coffee and juice. We were there almost 45 minutes and getting ready to leave when the nice man brought us an omelet. The next day, we asked if it would be the same but instead of an omelet we received two fries eggs that were so undercooked the white of the egg was runny.
