  Beautiful riad, super clean and always perfectly tidy. Every day our room was cleaned carefully and everything was spotless. The breakfast was very generous and absolutely delicious!When we arrived, we were welcomed by a very kind man who gave us lots of useful advice about what to visit and how to get around Marrakech.During the rest of our stay, we were mainly looked after by a guy named Mohamed, who was truly amazing. Every morning he asked us what time we wanted breakfast ready, and every evening he came to pick us up where the taxi dropped us off, no matter the time, because we had asked him to. Definitely not something to take for granted.He was always incredibly kind, helpful, friendly and available for anything we needed. We really felt at home. Highly recommended!   Everything was seamless from pick up atAirport to dinner on arrival at the Riad des Lys. Our room (the Zahara) was beautifully presented and decorated for our arrival and the staff were helpful and attentive. The rooftop pool was a lovely space to chill and read or sunbathe and towels and hats were available if required. We also had a spa and I can highly recommend the relaxing massage. The location of the Riad is ideal with lotsof shops and restaurants nearby. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable.   Lovely stay at a beautiful Riad

  Beautiful riad in the old city, close to good restaurants, the souks, and a beautiful spa. We stayed for four nights and felt very well looked after. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the staff were truly kind — they helped us book our Sahara trip and took great care of us when we got sick during our stay. The tea they offered us every day was such a thoughtful touch.Thank you for your kind hospitality!   I had high hopes when I saw the reviews for this Riad and the service we received online was great however once we arrived it was a terrible experience. This is not a child friendly Riad and I wish they had advised this at the beginning. There was issues with hot water and during the stay we had cold showers which resulted in us becoming I'll and resulted in us having a chest infection. We were told to speak quietly and not to move around the place. After we would come from.outside we had to go back to our rooms and were not allowed to hang out in the lounge area or terrace. It wasnt even late around 6:00-7:00pm. Due to the fear of being asked to leave we did not make any noise, walked slowly and spoke in low voices and we felt we were.living in a prison and had to stay in our rooms, we were not even allowed to hang out in my friends rooms and vice versa. We were in bed by 9:00 pm. This was supposed to be a fun holiday, first time we were on holiday with our children but this experience ruined our holiday. The next few days we would stay outside as much as we could so we that we didn't have to stay in our rooms for too long but as the weather was cold this was not feasible either. I would not visit this Riad again and it ruined my first time coming to Morroco, Riad des Lys, Propriétaire at Riad Des Lys, responded to this review Hello SameenaFollowing up on your message, I would like to clarify a few points.As mentioned in our previous conversations, and based on feedback from some guests, we have indeed revised our policy regarding children. The minimum age is now eight years old, as stated in our terms and conditions. This decision is in no way directed against families, but rather aims to preserve the peace and comfort of all our guests.Our riad is a traditional house located in the medina, organized around a central patio. In this type of building, sounds naturally reverberate, which can sometimes cause noise disturbances, unlike in modern, large hotels. Therefore, our team ensures that certain rules are followed, particularly in the evenings, to guarantee the tranquility of neighboring rooms. When you returned after 11:00 PM, you were simply asked to limit your use of the common areas during that time, out of respect for other guests.Regarding hot water, each room is equipped with an individual water heater, as is often the case in older buildings. When you reported a problem, our team intervened and confirmed that the hot water was available again that evening, allowing you to use it for the remainder of your stay. However, it is important to note that prolonged use of hot water can temporarily limit its availability.Regarding your health, we are sincerely sorry to hear that you and your child were ill after your stay. However, you visited during a particularly cold and rainy period, during which many cases of the flu were reported, and it is difficult for us to establish a direct link with the riad's facilities.We have certainly taken note of your comments. However, we believe that our establishment is better suited to travelers seeking peace and authenticity. For stays with young children, hotel-club style establishments, offering dedicated facilities and activities, may indeed be more appropriate.We thank you nonetheless for highlighting the cleanliness of the premises and the quality of our online service, and we wish you a speedy recovery.Best wishesThe Riad des Lys Team

  Lovely Riad with great staff

  I had a great stay at the Riad. The place is very beautiful, clean and with the most welcoming and helpful staff who went really far to make me feel at home. From the rooftop terrace, the view is just stunning over the area overlooking one of the oldest, if not the oldest, mosque. It's an architectual piece without comparison.
