Beautiful Riad! We especially enjoyed feeling right at home with the little pool in the middle and the comfy sofas all around. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the space itself is very calm and peaceful. We were quiet sad to leave so soon but will be definitely back again :)

    Price gouging guests

    rating04 Dec 2021

I stayed at dar Picolina two times over the course of 10 days. The facility and staff were both very nice. On the last day of my stay I requested a bottle of water, which on my first stay was complementary. I also ordered a small pot of green tea. As I left the hotel the following day I was asked for payment for the water and tea - 150dh. That's $17 USD for a liter of water and a small pot of tea. Obvious price gouging. That hurt. I payed for my stays promptly and in cash per their request for the second visit. This is abusive.

    Frindly stuff but expensive accomodation

    rating11 Mar 2019

It could be 3,5 stars for rating. The staff was perfect and helpful, we felt their hospitality! We had a lovely welkome traditional sweets and of course mint tea. The breakfast was poor, for 65€ per night we were expecting more. So yes, it is expensive. We had the room on ground floor, where everyone has breakfast. The noise is annoying, is like these people are in your room. There is lovely terrace, but not any view. Good mattress, hard pillows, 20' walking from Medina.

Oh dear, dont stay too long

    rating06 Mar 2018

We had a 5 night stay between 24 feb to 2nd March 2018. The negatives - the room was very dark (no natural light), no tea making facilities, no tv, no bedside phone, bedside light blew up on my wife, one room with a toilet separated by only an old curtain that didn't fit the doorway (no privacy), like a prison cell.Nothing to do in there and if you have children could be a nightmare.Breakfast very basic. The positives - Mustapha (manager) a nice man and very helpful although not always around as he managers other properties.Room cleaned well.An authentic look at how some live in basic Riads. It is down a long alleyway but you get used to finding your way in and out. There are sometimes men stood in the alleyway but they are fine.Very little to do outside of the Riad. Yes there is the famous market but after that there is nothing, just busy and quite dangerous streets, scooters parked on the pavement, crazy cyclists and drivers, phone shop after phone shop.We had to book a day trip just to get out of the place and maintain sanity.Overall pretty poor. If you must go stay 1 or 2 nights only, don't take children, expect very basic facilities.
