Relax and New Experiences in an Elegant Riad

    rating25 Mar 2026

I arrived in Marrakech on a solo trip, looking for nothing more than a quiet place to unplug and recharge after a long, grueling winter of work. Having heard the mixed reviews about the intensity of the city, I kept my expectations low; my only plan was to meditate, do my yoga routines, and find some headspace. What I discovered at Riad Ta’achchaqa was so much more than a hotel—it was a small, perfect microcosmos. The location is unbeatable, tucked away in the most elegant and vibrant part of the Medina. The design strikes that rare, difficult balance between understated Moroccan elegance and genuine modern comfort. It feels high-end but never cold. The rooftop is a sanctuary. Every morning at sunrise, I had the entire space to myself. Practicing yoga as the city woke up was "food for my soul" in the purest sense. Afterward, I’d enjoy breakfast on the terrace as a handful of international guests slowly joined, creating a peaceful, communal atmosphere that never felt crowded. While I spent my days exploring the "must-sees"—the ancient buildings, hammams, and hidden tea houses—the real magic happened through the people. Despite being a solo traveler, I made new friends almost immediately. The owner is a true connaisseur and frankly one of the best hosts I have ever encountered. He went far beyond standard hospitality. One day, he invited me to join him at a stunning pool where he goes to unwind, and later, he invited me and a few other guests to join his circle of friends for dinner. We went to a "known-only-to-locals" restaurant that was absolutely vibrant. It was there, surrounded by new friends and the real energy of Marrakech nights, that I realized I had found exactly what I didn't know I was looking for.I’ve just returned to the north feeling like a completely new person—restored and inspired. I got so much more than I could have imagined from this trip. My advice: Hurry up and book. Once the word gets out about this place, it’s going to be impossible to snag a room.

I was so impressed with the riad which was beautifully decorated and located in the heart of the Medina. It was an incredibly comfortable stay and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a good trip. I can't recommend this place enough for solo traveller and families alike! I never write reviews on the places I've stayed, but this place deserves a special mention!

    A fantastic stay

    rating07 Mar 2019

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Riad Ta’achchaqa in Marrakech. The accommodation was one of the reasons that our visit was so enjoyable. We were able to prearrange transport from the airport and a welcome meal on our first evening. Our driver was outside the airport to meet us and took us directly to the riad. We were welcomed by Malika and Mustafa who were really helpful and attentive throughout our stay. We had some lovely breakfasts and the chicken tagine meal on the first evening was delicious. The riad was well located, not far from the central square through the souks. We would highly recommend this little haven.

Very pleasant - hard to find

    rating19 Aug 2018

We stayed for three nights with friends. The Riad is VERY hard to find, we very lucky to have some local lads take us there...for a fee. The Riad itself is traditional (with unusual bathrooms). You can have a beer on the sun terrace (although they did run out on occasions:). Breakfast was also served on the sun terrace and it was excellent.Ahead of our visit we did ask for details of transfers ….but heard nothing.
