Good value family fun in the sun!

    rating26 Apr 2026

After reading the plethora of bad reviews before our stay I feel that it is necessary to set the record straight. Firstly, we arrived just before lunch time and were dealt with swiftly and efficiently. We were informed as expected that our room would not be ready until 3 o'clock but we were welcome to use the food and facilities whilst we waited. Tourist tax was a little pricey and after speaking with other guests I am not sure the pricing is consistent. We paid 700 MAD for a family of four for reference. We came back to get our room key at 3 o'clock. However, our room was still not ready and we were asked to wait a further 15 minutes, which again was not really an issue for us. We were assisted to our room by a member of staff who delivered our luggage directly to our room (he did hang around for a tip which I do find a little rude, but we gave one none the less.) Our room was a family room and was spacious and clean but a little dated and basic (not an issue for us as we only sleep in the room). We did notice that the main bed had not yet been made up and there were no pillowcases on any of the pillows. However, we made the maids aware and they were very apologetic and resolved the issue promptly. Work is being carried out at the moment on the rooms to upgrade them but this does not cause any disturbance to the holiday at all.The food exceeded all of our expectations. There was plenty of variety both traditional to Morocco and typical British favourites as well. The pizza was freshly made and the chips were to die for. They offered plenty of different fish and meats throughout the week and there was always plenty of fresh salad and accompaniments. The puddings were out of this world and again always plenty to choose from as well as yoghurt, fresh fruit and ice cream. Breakfast was always delicious as well with traditional Moroccon items as well as cereal, yoghurt and pancakes. The all inclusive drinks were a little bit of a let down for me, but again, not a major issue as I am not a massive drinker. They have one draught beer, vodka, gin and whisky alongside some basic cocktails in the all inclusive. The glasses are generally small but obviously you can go back as often as you would like to fill up. What you got with the cocktails and mocktails was a bit hit and miss and you sometimes didn't get what you ordered but it was always tasty. I once ordered an apple juice for my two year old and I got vodka instead haha! There is a juice machine, coffee machine and water dispenser in the main bar area that you can help yourselves to so that's a bonus. There can sometimes be a bit of a queue at the bar and I imagine this would be worse in peak season but it isn't the end of the world. The hotel grounds are absolutely stunning and are very well maintained. The flowers are absolutely gorgeous and new ones were being planted as we were there. The staff were always attending to the flowers and there was never any rubbish littered around the grounds. The spa was also lovely, calm and welcoming. My 2 and 5 year olds had two kid's massages whilst we were there and the staff were absolutely amazing with them. Now for the best part....the entertainment team. As commented on in many reviews, they are the bread and butter of the hotel. They do not stop working from morning until night. There is a constant flow of day time activities including aqua aerobics, pool games, volleyball, dancing and darts to name but a few. All of the evening entertainment throughout our stay was also provided by the hotel entertainment team and I have to say, they are all so very talented. Dance and fire acts were absolutely incredible. They worked tirelessly to get people involved in the evening dance routines and quizzes and were constantly walking around the pool area during the day checking you were having a good time and just having general chit chats with you. The hotel photographers are also constantly on the look out for a good shot and are happy to show you your images whenever. Big shout out to Mr Tash who my girls absolutely loved! We also needed some medical attention throughout our stay as my 2 year old fell ill. The hotel Nurse escalated his concerns to a Dr straight away who was also absolutely incredible and communicated with us extremely well. My daughter did end up needing some antibiotics which the nurse went in to town to collect for us as well. He also checked in on my daughter throughout the stay and showed genuine concern and compassion. We did also visit the sister hotel on our stay to have a look around their grounds and the shops. All also very well maintained. However, I will say that the shops at both hotels were minimal so if you are wanting any snacks and sweets etc throughout your stay then I would recommend you take some with you as there isn't anywhere else close by. We also made a short visit to the waterpark during our stay which was very quiet. It was again, clean and well maintained with just enough to keep the kids busy.Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and do not understand where all the negative reviews are coming from. We found it to be excellent value for money for what we paid and the heatwave was a bonus too!

Do not book worst hotel ever stayed in

    rating25 Apr 2026

I’m genuinely surprised this hotel is rated 4* in reality, it barely reaches a 2* standard. To start, we weren’t allowed to check into our room until 3pm and were left sitting in reception for over 5 hours with no effort made to accommodate us. First impressions matter, and this was a frustrating start to the stay. The hotel itself is in serious need of renovation. While the rooms are reasonably clean, they are extremely dated. The shower was one of the worst I’ve experienced, it was barely functional wouldn’t stay up by itself you had to hose yourself off. Could have had a better shower from a hose pipe, plus the fat the drains stank so didn’t feel as if I was getting clean. The biggest issue, however, is the staff. The reception team were consistently rude and unprofessional. They would carry on conversations with each other and ignore guests until there conversation was over, and speaking in an abrupt and dismissive tone when they finally did. The bar staff behaved similarly, and I was even shouted at at the pool bar for not wearing a tshirt, something that could have been handled politely instead of aggressively. We even complained to hotel manager one night we tried to be positive and say there is some nice things in the hotel the Manager just responded “yes I know there is” not exactly good service when someone is putting in a complaint. The entertainment was also very poor more like a low-budget butlins. At times it felt like it was aimed at very young children, with songs like “Baby Shark” being played in the main bar at 9/10pm at night. It wasn’t relaxing or enjoyable for adults. There is an adults-only pool, which is probably the only highlight of the hotel. However, it’s about a 10-minute walk from the main pool and has no bar, just a water machine (with no cups available). This means a 15–20 minute round trip just to get a drink, which is far from convenient. There’s also no members of staff including a lifeguard so if something happened someone would drown. For an all-inclusive hotel, the drinks offering is very limited. Only beer, wine, and sangria are included—cocktails cost extra, which feels very misleading.

Entertainment team carried the stay. Reception dragged it down

    rating21 Apr 2026

I’d rate this stay 3 out of 5 overall. There were some lovely aspects, but also a few disappointing ones. The room was clean and comfortable, although the hotel appears to still be undergoing refurbishment in places. The grounds are absolutely stunning-peaceful, beautifully maintained, and a real highlight. Credit to the gardening team for their hard work. Food in the dining area was also good, with a nice variety and some particularly tasty options, although the coffee machines only seemed to be available for a short time in the mornings.Unfortunately, the reception staff were the biggest drawback. They came across as rude and inattentive, often distracted by their mobile phones while guests were waiting. Having visited other places in Morocco before, I’ve always experienced warm and welcoming hospitality, which made this stand out even more for the wrong reasons. On a much more positive note, the entertainment team were exceptional and really made the holiday. They were friendly, approachable, and very guest-focused. A special mention to Momo, who stood out for his energy and connection with guests.Overall, a hotel with great potential, but reception service needs significant improvement to match the rest of the experience. Guest Relation Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Valeria Dar Atlas Resort, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We are pleased to read that you appreciated the cleanliness of your room, the beauty of our gardens, and the variety of food offered. A special thank you for your kind words about our entertainment team, especially Momo—they will be delighted to hear your compliments. We are, however, sorry to learn about your experience at reception, as this does not reflect the level of service we aim to provide. Your comments have been taken seriously and shared with the team for immediate review and improvement. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide you with a more seamless and enjoyable experience.

We had an amazing stay at Valeria Das Resort in Marrakech! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and attentive, making us feel completely relaxed and looked after. The resort itself is beautiful, clean, well maintained and full of charm. The pool area is perfect for unwinding and there’s always a great atmosphere without it ever feeling overcrowded. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and kept spotless throughout our stay. The adult only pool section is amazing. The food was another highlight, with a great variety of vegetarian food and something different each day.Overall, it was the perfect mix of relaxation and good vibes. We’d absolutely return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Marrakech!
