    Disappointing and over priced

    rating21 Apr 2026

A very corporate hotel, probably excellent for business conventions, but we found it rather impersonal and definitely overpriced. We stayed at La Tour Hassan as part of a longer trip which also included the cities of Fes, Casablanca and Marrakech before travelling to the Ourika Valley. This hotel was, by far, the most disappointing and we were shocked that the additional for three days’ breakfasts plus a single half bottle of Moroccan wine, and a serving of mint tea, cost the same price as evening meals with drinks and cocktails at our superb and quite grand hotels in Fes, Casablanca and Marrakech. Our Superior Garden Room was surprisingly small and the shower was so badly designed that it flooded the bathroom. The room was furnished with only one pair of slippers and we were left with a single tiny tablet of chocolate when we returned to our room in the evening, despite it being a double room. Our overpriced and very disappointing breakfast did not even offer muesli or granola except on the first day of our three night stay. Staff were available but compared to our other hotel experiences, I can only assume that this is not a happy place to work as our interactions with staff were transactional rather than infused with the typical Moroccan hospitality we experienced elsewhere. Rabat itself is a great place to visit, especially for the art galleries but we would definitely avoid this hotel on our next visit. What a shame.

Great hotel, but a bad experience at the Spa

    rating05 Apr 2026

Our stay was good, the hotel is really well located, it is clean, and the personnel is nice and professional. Also, the breakfast was excellent! However, we had a very bad experience at the Spa. We booked some massages and the 2 ladies made us feel very uncomfortable, the massage was not really professional and the ladies were really insistent for us to give tips... knowing that the massage was already expensive. A very bad moment there. Apart from that, the hotel was great (a special thanks to the 2 men working at the door and helping us with the luggage, I don´t know their names but they were really nice and helpful!!).

    Abominable!

    rating02 Mar 2026

A very arrogant manager named Miriam who does not deserve the position of manager as she is arrogant, rude & barks at her guests with poor communication skills. We had three room bookings. She told me she was giving me a suite & she allocated the worst three rooms on 4th floor with stinking bathrooms & stifling rooms with no air conditioning. They asked us to open the windows if we wanted cool air! This is a five star hotel supposed to be “luxury”! When the rest of the group opened the windows mosquitoes flew in & we couldn’t sleep the night! The Moroccan restaurant, Piano Bar were lovely with very pleasant & smiling staff unlike the horror of a Manager at Front Desk. You should shift her to back office. There were 2 gentleman by the name of Mohammad ( unsure if I got the name right ) and another smiling young gentleman & Salma at FO who were all very nice. Fortunately we got tad better rooms on the 4th floor as we complained to the manager in the evening. This morning when we went in for breakfast which was a varied spread we noted there were many staff hanging around but none attentive. We had to request for napkins, coffee, teaspoons, no tablespoons except a knife & fork placed on the table. When I returned to our room House keeping girl was in our room & taking away towels even before we had checked out. All our jewellery, suitcases, hand bags were lying open & we were shocked to see her flitting out of our room & leaving us without a towel to wash up with in the bathroom! I did complain with the name of the staff to Front Desk. All in all a beautiful property with poorly managed staff. The rooms are pricey, the bar & restaurant as well. I would suggest you don’t waste your money or serenity on this property. Best avoided.
