This exclusive hotel is located beside the Strait of Gibraltar where Europe and Africa meet and lies in the modern city featuring international districts. The attractive hotel is very well known and has earned its reputation over many years. The nearest public transport stop can be reached in a few minutes on foot (about 600 m).

Facility

Guests have a choice of 140 rooms, including 17 suites, 43 single rooms and 73 double rooms, located in two 3-storey buildings with lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is among the standard features of some rooms. All rooms are carpeted and include a king-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator and a mini fridge. A trouser press is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. A hairdryer and a telephone are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. Bathrooms with wheelchair access can also be booked. Sport

Guests can strike that perfect balance between exercise and relaxation in one of the 2 indoor and outdoor pools. The freshwater pool area, which is in part heated, also has a children's pool. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. For guests who wish to keep active, tennis and crazy golf are available. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym, yoga and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a range of services, including a spa, a hammam and a beauty salon. In addition, a sauna, a steam bath and massage treatments are available for a fee. Parents can unwind while the kids can participate in an entertainment programme full of fun activities.

    A lovely hotel that needs some improvement to call itself 5 star

    Beautiful hotel, with lots of old-world charm, in a wonderful location close to the medina. Many famous people have stayed at the hotel and their photos are displayed in the lovely courtyard in the centre. There is beautiful tiling everywhere like that found in Spanish palaces and a lovely fountain too.We were allocated Room 343, which involved quite a bit of walking, which was disappointing as I had texted them in advance of a knee problem. In fact, 2 days into my stay, I got a message to say they had noted my request!The room had a wonderful view but the the flooring was damaged and the balcony had damage too.Some renovation needs to happen across the hotel to earn its 5 stars.Finally, the breakfast for vegetarians was practically the same every day and could be improved on. Also, there is no signage to say what the food is and whether it has eggs, is vegan, gluten-free, etc. I would expect this of a 5 star hotel.

    Our experience at El Minzah Hotel was truly unforgettable. The hotel has a unique charm where history, elegance, and authentic Moroccan spirit come together beautifully. From the architecture to the calm and refined atmosphere, every detail makes you feel transported to another era.The service was excellent from the first moment. A special thank you to Mohammed at the reception for his warm welcome, professionalism, and efficiency during check-in — he immediately made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Also, a big appreciation to Ilyas, the waiter, for his kindness, attentiveness, and genuine smile. His service was impeccable and added a very pleasant touch to our stay.El Minzah is more than just a hotel; it is a true experience of hospitality and character. We truly enjoyed every moment and will definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for elegance, comfort, and authentic Moroccan hospitality. ✨

    Expensive for what it offers and staff don’t care for feedback.

    Expensive for what it is which I would rate as 3 star by international standards in what is a modern port city (not the self rated 5). Yes had hot water but ineffective noisy plumbing, old chipped decor, thin walls and tv reception didn’t work. Checked in 5 pm tried to get news and no tv reception, reported and no action or feedback by reception. Went to use indoor pool and sauna as a married couple -no signs as to whether mixed male and female access possible in any room instructions ( there was no guide as to the hotel facilities advertised when you book and how to access them) or instructions at pool/sauna when we found it. Had to walk up and down stairs through multiple add on buildings to get to what was a cramped sauna. A local man who uses gym/sauna opened door and apologised when he found me as a (clothed) woman and her husband sat in the sauna but when he later came back as no other options he was a nice chap to talk to. Long convoluted and poorly signed walk back to room. Food in hotel seemed ok but nothing special. Loud music from bar made it impossible to get to sleep. Reported music to Ahmed at reception at 2200 (when he eventually answered the operator not reception telephone line) who said this was normal until 2300 -this was a Friday night. The next morning we reported disappointment in noise levels to Saturday morning manager as we checked out who told us the music ceased at 2230 ( it did not!), he also told us this is normal and he had upgraded us (omg if that was an upgrade… ) and basically was dismissive and didn’t care to have any guest feedback. Photos of the old hotel and guests paraded on walls from a time when there was no competition-this hotel appears to live off past glories. Expensive for what it is and relative to other hotels and Riads in the week we have travelled in Morocco as a family.

    My stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The location was also convenient, close to key attractions and essential services. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    Beautiful historic hotel. Easy check in with our booking. Very courteous and professional service. Decor is absolutely stunning! We were very pleased with our room and found it to be very comfortable. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room or patio. Selection was very good and delicious. We were booked for only one night stay during our travels in Morocco. Truly a week staying there and in Tangier would be perfect! Highly recommend!
