  Fabulous for the price.

  I stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is extremely basic but...for the money you pay it is excellent. We found our room to be very clean, the bed comfortable with nice bedding. It is no thrills. The shower was nice and hot. We had a room that directly looked out over the Petit Soco which was great. It is noisy but so long as you know it's fine. Loads of places to eat and relax nearby, shopping galore. The location of the hotel is fabulous as not only is it in the medina it is a 5 minute stroll down to the beautiful sea front and beach. Camels and horses were fun to watch and looked very well cared for. Soft golden sand on a very clean beach.The hotel has two wonderful employees on reception. One, ( sorry I forgot your name ) wears a very quirky hat and was lovely and gave us brilliant advice re the area and what to do and see. He spoke very good English. The other guy is called Mosin and he was an absolute star. He spoke perfect fluent English, Spanish and Arabic and is a real asset to the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for him and every time we saw him he gave us, and everybody else a massive smile. He has a great sense of humour!For the money I would definitely return.

  2 weeks in Mauritania or dive back into the Beat Generation Mood. That was my impression during those two weeks. We leave the door of his room open so that a draft comes to cool us; and then Mounis or whoever it is among his collaborators will always have a kind word, a smile for you. You will witness all the day and night life of the center of the Medina. You are in his heart. From the top of its rooftop you will be taken by the beauty of the sunrises and magic happens when the call to prayer comes to envelop you to hold you in Tangier.   Hotel right in the thick of it, very noisy at night time and no air con so very stuffy. One thing that really annoyed me about this place was when we checked in I asked the receptionist to extend the room as we have a late flight, fast forward to check out morning and I ask again about the room, the receptionist said there were no rooms available, I then showed him my booking site which said there was 15 available rooms for that night, this has been a great trip to Morocco but this has really annoyed me on the last day, nobody likes being lied to Hotel Mauritania , Owner at Hotel Mauritania, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback, and please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced during your check-out.It seems there may have been a miscommunication regarding your request to extend the room.   This was a great safe clean place to stay in a perfect location for a solo traveler :) Room was modest but had everything needed and the price is right.
