Nice infrastructures, rooms are good but service from reception is terribleNever seen an hotel where you have to carry your luggage by yourself to the room that is far away from reception... Same when checking out. Also recurrent key issue... had to walk back and forth to the reception from my room as the key was never working. Also ladies at the reception can't put a smile on... Lovely and peaceful place in Maputo

I had a wonderful stay in Montebelo Indy Maputo Congress Hotel. It is like living in a nice and quite village in the major city Maputo. Although the gym and the pool were closed due to Covid restrictions, the hotel succeeded in maintaining some part of their entertainment program: they have a very nice SPA and professional hairdresser services with friendly personnel.Following the Covid measures: I was very comfortable with their hygene policy and the way they put this in practice. Their hygene standards are comparable with or even higher than the ones of a 5 star hotel in Maputo.The hotel also maintains a high level of security, the rooms are nice and well maintained and the breakfast was very good.In short: if I would ever return to Maputo I book again a room in this hotel.

LOCKED OUT OF OWN ROOM OVERNIGHT DUE TO FAULTY LOCK

NEVER AGAIN!! This hotel charges $99-$135 per night and does not maintain their locks properly. I was LOCKED OUT of my room overnight because the lock had stopped working (flat battery), so I couldn’t spend the night in my own paid room with my clothes, toiletries etc.I had a flight to catch early the next morning and it still was not fixed!! I was only let back in 10 minutes before my taxi for the airport arrived!! So stressful! When I told the manager he sat there very condescending and patronisingly offered me a future hotel voucher and said “you still slept at the property”. What use is that when I couldn’t shower, brush my teeth or put on clean clothes?!!! What use is a voucher when I’m never coming back to Mozambique again?!!! And I sure as hell would never stay in that hotel again if that’s how they treat their guests, particularly female travellers... it’s disgusting. This is NOT ok, I would NOT recommend staying here.

Montebelo Indy has a really genius concept with stand alone cottages which i think is such a beautiful idea. The breakfast is so nice and thanks for the bottles of Champagne every morning,great staff and really ambient rooms and outdoors though i feel the bathrooms could need aome updating. Good hotel with excellent facilities.

Booked a chalet. Chalet was spacious with separate kitchen/dining area, bedroom and bathroom. Very clean and reasonably well maintained. All chalets are in a compound with 24hr manned security. Safe provided in the room.Restaurant and bar area very pleasant and food is good. Staff vary between (mostly) helpful and cheerful and downright surly. I think the ability to speak Portuguese (I don't) is a distinct advantage as not all staff are fluent in English.Swimming pool with a small bar is very nice. Conference facilities are excellent.I'm happy to recommend this hotel to anybody who needs to visit Maputo.
