We stayed two nights and enjoyed the suit and its balcony, the friendly and helpful staff, and the nice bar on the first floor. The hotel feels like an old, important part of the town. We slept well in the quiet bedroom. I wish there would have been updated and more charging possibilities in the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. We did not eat at the hotel but the dining room looked nice. We parked on the street and the guards made sure it was safe

pleasant prestige overnight stay

We stayed for 2 nights and had one of the suits with two bedrooms and a bath. Very nice hotel - everything clean and staff very friendly. Wonderful breakfast. Cannot comment about dinner as didn't go, but noticed that on the 2nd night the dining room was full - quite a number of groups staying at the hotel. Ambiente was a bit to the 1980s which we loved. We wnt to the bar both evenings - also very elegant and tasteful ambiente. We enjoyed the Hansa coffee on one evening too.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hansa Hotel in Swakopmund. The hotel is spotlessly clean, which made us feel very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—always welcoming and ready to assist with a smile. The breakfast was a highlight: fresh, delicious, and with a great variety every morning.Hansa Hotel blends classic charm with excellent service. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Swakopmund!

Safe bet

Pleasant, clean and relatively relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. Professional and pleasant staff, good location with good menu. You will get exactly what it says on the tin i.e. it’s a safe bet for travellers although it does not have the most exciting or diverse feel about it

Good Hotel In An Excellent Location
19 Apr 2025
This a very nice hotel in Swakop in an excellent location. Its located right in the centre of Swakop town centre and there are many shops around it including a PicknPay and some souvenir shops. It is also located right next to a mini mall where you can find a lot more good shops. Its a 10 minute walk to the beach and it is also about a 20 minute walk from the popular Desert Explorers activity centre. The hotel structure and deco is very old colonial style. When I first read the other reviews about the colonial style I was a bit worried about our stay but I can confirm, non of the staff or management have colonial attitudes. The hotel staff are extremely polite and very helpful. We had a room that overlooked the courtyard. The room was very large and we were very pleased with this. We were however, a bit disappointed with the food. The breakfast was continental buffet and it was ok, nothing really special. No one told us that we can order an English breakfast and we had to figure this out ourselves. The English breakfast was very disappointing. 2 tiny shrunken sausages with a random egg and a tiny bit of fried tomatoes. We expected better. Another thing we observed at breakfast was there was a lot of waiting staff hovering around. They were very polite and attentive but we felt a bit watched and I think having more than 6 staff hovering around asking if you are ok is a bit excessive. We had dinner twice at this hotel. I had Crumbed fillet of Hake served on a warm German style potato salad. On another day I had 4 black tiger prawns and a warm salad. Both meals were delicious. We also had braised oxtail and we thought it was a bit too salty. Overall, its a good hotel, maybe the deco needs to be updated a bit to attract a more younger crowd.
