Beautiful hotel, good restaurant, nice rooms, and comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast, and a good location. Harderwijk, Spakenburg, and Amersfoort are easily to reach (car is handy, but public transportation is available).The musical "40/45" is also a 20-minute drive away, which is perfect.We will definitely be back, there's no reason to look elsewhere in the area.The prices are good compared to other hotels.

Worst Hotel Experience since Years

It all started when we arrived at around 14:00, when we were greeted at reception with the words that our room would only be ready for occupancy at 15:00 and not earlier. At this point we had not been asked for our name or our reservation, we were simply told that guests would be turned away before 15:00. The so-called King Suite is a carelessly furnished room with a small terrace overlooking the parking lot. The bathroom is a complete misconstruction with a shower door that opens inwards, making it impossible to shower with the shower door closed. The result is a flooded bathroom. The stay was particularly pleasant from 01:30 in the morning when about 12 guests celebrated a private party in the adjoining room and on the terrace. The completely incompetent receptionist was unable to resolve the situation until 03:00 in the morning. Instead, we were brought earplugs. Worst hotel experience since years - thank you Golden Tulip team!

The parking os good located, the sauna and swimming pool are nice.Reception staff are unprofessional and unfriendly.I asked from the moment I booked (a few days before booking) for the two rooms I booked to be closed to each other, this did not happen. I also asked for a bathtub in my room, which actually appeared in the photo and description of my room, and that didn't happen.When I asked for this again upon check-in, they said that the room that was supposed to have a bathtub didn't, but the other room did.After I was in both rooms and had none, I went back to reception who said they couldn't do anything because the entire hotel was booked. I checked Booking.com and managed to find a room with a bathtub.I went back to understand why they didn't reveal the true information. The lady said that the room didn't have a bathtub and I showed her the photos from booking.com.Given the embarrassing situation, the lady did not allow me to make the reservation, which would actually be productive for the hotel (as I would have to pay more for the room), she turned her back and left.It was a lack of politeness, respect and professionalism.Also in no moment they explained where the spa or the swimming pool were located, I actually needed to find that by my own.For this reason I will never return to this hotel and I will advise against it to anyone I know.

It is such a wonderful hotel. Good rooms, good breakfast, nice staff. Everwhere is so clean, the bar is lovely, rooms are cosy. It is near to Nijkerk town which is beautiful. But It is far from Amsterdam. You can stay during your transit travels.

Hotel got a refurb this year, and looks nice on paper. Staff very service minded, BUT that is also to cater for a few shortcomings.* Pool/sauna great, but they lack pool towels. Asking reception or housekeeping for an extra one on the room is just cumbersome.* Restaurant 'Baron' has nice HB dinners, a la carte also looks fine. But nothing like an amuse or bread with oil with the drinks, then the wait for the meal courses is long. Great staff, they found a replacement dessert for us as the standard offer was not our taste.Spacious rooms, often with shared balcony. Great buffet breakfast. Good free walking and biking routes.
