Quiet location, free parking and a beautiful canal — but that’s where the positives end.

    rating06 Apr 2026

The hotel is well located, in nice surroundings, with good transport links and free parking.Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The hotel itself is below average. The carpet on the stairs is ripped, there is a persistent unpleasant smell, and calling it “boutique” is misleading. Breakfast is very limited, and the rooms were not cleaned properly — the floors were visibly dirty. The most serious issue is that both my wife and I developed what appear to be bed bug bites during our stay. This was the first place we stayed on our trip, and symptoms started the following day. The bites have since become increasingly severe and widespread. This needs to be investigated urgently, and future guests should be aware.

    Black mould and dirt

    rating31 Aug 2025

Our first room called Jan Steen on the 2. floor was very dirty, not to mention a very strange odor. There was two windows, none of them worked. Walls covered in strange stains. The bathroom was also very dirty, black mold and limescale in the shower/bathtub. The bed was horrible. We had one night in this room, then made a complaint and was transferred to a second room. Our second room called Narcisse Hyacint, was an extension build next to the main building. Restored, and looked fine on the surface. But this room had an even worse problem with black mold. There was black mold on the walls, at the ceiling and in the windows. Again a lot of stains on the walls, and the television was also very dirty. Looking at the bathroom, another issue with black mold but also just dirt. The hairdryer was covered in dirt, the walls in between the tiles was filled with black mold and the window in the ceiling hadnt been cleaned in ages. Also the bed in this room was bad, though it looked pretty with the curtains and all. This hotel has a serious health issue regarding their black mold problem. But common cleaning should also be on the top of their improvement list.I will mention that i am currently pregnant and extra concerned regarding my health, but even if i wasnt, this was still way below tolerateble. I have paid around 425 euros for 3 nights in a very unhealthy environment.Tl;dr - Nice hotel IF they did something about their black mold problem, and got a regular cleaning procedure. Pictures from the room called Narcisse Hyacint.

    Very nice Hotel

    rating04 Sept 2024

I had a wonderful stay at Alp de Veenen Boutique Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home. My room was beautifully decorated and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was a highlight, with a fantastic shower that was perfect for relaxing after a long day.The hotel is located in a quiet area, so I was able to get a great night's sleep without any disturbances. The breakfast was delicious and they even offered packed lunches for guests on the go. Overall, I highly recommend Alp de Veenen Boutique Hotel for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

    Lovely & Quiet

    rating03 Sept 2023

We didn’t want to stay in the heart of Amsterdam itself so booked here. I’m so glad we did. Situated just in the outskirts in a lovely quiet town. We were still very near to the bus station to get us into Amsterdam. It took approximately 20mins. There are also shops and restaurants near the hotel. We are in the local Cantonese which I highly recommend! The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The room we stayed in was on the first floor at the back of the hotel overlooking the canal. Both my husband and I had wonderful nights sleep as it was so quiet. Toiletries and coffee are also supplied. Breakfast is fresh and filling.

    Nice place

    rating20 Jun 2022

Stayed here with my wife for 4 nights. Not to far from the airport and there are tram stops around 10 mins walk away into Amsterdam centre. Staff were helpful and the place was very clean. In a nice quiet area with a few restaurants and bars within walking distance. Would stay here again
