    Unfair service

    rating10 Jun 2026

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received during my stay.I arrived at the hotel at 9:00 AM and asked if it would be possible to check in early. I was willing to pay an additional fee if a room was available. I was told that no rooms were ready and was asked to return at 1:00 PM. When I returned, the staff repeatedly reminded me that the official check-in time was 3:00 PM without providing clear information about room availability.Later, I was informed that a room was available at 2:00 PM, but only if I paid an additional €10 for early check-in. This option was never clearly explained when I first arrived, which made the whole process frustrating and poorly managed. When I finally checked in at 3:00 PM, I was standing in line at reception, but the receptionist ignored me and called another Western guest who was behind me. The other guest even pointed out that I had been waiting first. This experience left me feeling that I was treated unfairly and with less respect than other guests. The room itself was acceptable, although it was not as clean as I would have expected. While this was not a major issue, it added to the overall disappointment.Overall, the biggest problem was not the room but the attitude and professionalism of the front desk staff. The communication was poor, the service was unfriendly, and I left with a very negative impression of the hotel.

Perfect budget hotel in excellent location.

    rating08 Jun 2026

We had a triple room (218) on the second floor with access to the lift. The beds were very comfortable and spacious room, great shower. A little dated in areas but the hotel has a nice atmosphere to it and the day staff (especially Milo) are fantastic. The night staff (Adnam) very rude and reluctant to help. That was the only negative to our stay. The location is PERFECT!

    Great service of receptionists

    rating05 Jun 2026

I did not stay at the Avenue, but me and my wife were looking for 45 minutes for the Inntel Hotel. But we couldn’t find it. We went to the reception of Avenue and the receptionist mr Armann explained the instructions to me and my wife. But unfortunatly we couldn’t find the directions after his explanation. So me and my wife went back to the Avenue to ask the receptionist again. And Armann immediately went outside with us and brought us to the Inntel Hotel which was next to the police station. The service Armann has gaven us shows the quality of service Avenue receptionist have. Next year we will definitely stay at the Avenue hotel and we really hope that Armann will be there so we won’t get lost getting to museums

Alina and Vanessa are the best!

    rating03 Jun 2026

My wife and I embarked on a last-minute trip and booked the Avenue Hotel while en route to Central Station on the train. Arriving at 7am, we found ourselves ahead of schedule for check-in, so we utilized the time to explore the surrounding area and discover local attractions and eateries. We returned to the hotel by 8am, where Vanessa and Alina provided exceptional service, addressing every inquiry we had regarding sights and events with diligence and courtesy. Their accommodating nature significantly enhanced our experience. Given their excellent service, I highly recommend staying at the Avenue Hotel.

    Mouldy unsafe apartment

    rating21 May 2026

Stayed here this week with my teenage daughter for 3 days, upon check in we were asked for an additional €150 deposit as we were staying in an apartment room, no mention on booking.com of this, this room was in another building, top floor up a dizzying spiral staircase with no lift and in a residential block, it was very dirty and had people’s mail, packages and spare kids car seats strewn all over the place, one of the windows in the close didn’t shut, and the bathroom was separate from the room, not ideal for a teenage girl to visit alone. The lock on the door had 1 screw holding it in place and no deadbolts, as a lone parent with her child this felt extremely unnerving to me and I refused to stay there, in the room there were also 2 pieces of broken furniture and mould on the walls, when I questioned this at reception I was told everything I was unhappy about was completely normal for Amsterdam, all while the young staff were laughing at us and writing messages to each other. My main question was around paying a deposit for a room that wasn’t fit for purpose. They had no rooms left to move me elsewhere however after lots of to and fro with the manager they suddenly had multiple rooms they could show me around, we were moved after almost 3 painstaking hours after a long day of travelling which ultimately ruined our first afternoon in an otherwise great stay. The new room we were moved to was smaller but perfectly adequate, it was however completely different from the mouldy apartment.
