  Let's start with the positive points: staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. But.... the hotel itself feels more like company housing for seasonal workers than an actual hotel.Most guests are men in work clothes, the hallways smell like smoke, and doors slam all night. For €100 a night, this is simply not worth it.Bastion should decide whether it wants to be a housing facility or a hotel… right now, it’s stuck somewhere in between.Also the room was very dirty. Bedding had stains, bathroom was also not cleaned well. Carpet was smelling odd and didn't look very clean. Also no water kettle in the room, lights on the dresser were broken etc.

  At our check-out day, the Hotel has double charged us (230EUR). After long conversations with the staff, it took almost 1 week to get the payment back in our bank account and therefore we had limited money to continue our vacation.Although we wanted to check out at 9:30, we ended up leaving the hotel at 11:30. In the meantime, we also received a parking fine because the parking ticket was 10 minutes overdue.Although the hotel has taken responsibility for their mistake by email and wanted to document proof of the parking company, they have not responded to our inquiries.We ask hotel/headquater to get in touch with a senior manager, but no one sends us further in the organization. The inquiries are not answered.I would not recommend Bastion Hotel Noord to any guests. The rooms are dirty, no elevator and not baby friendly. The staff is not friendly and does not show understanding of the guests' needs.The food in the hotel is overpriced.We will never visit Bastion Hotel again.

  Absolutely unprofessional – avoid at all costs!

  On behalf of my company, I’ve made numerous attempts to contact Bastion Hotel Amsterdam Noord regarding a reservation we unfortunately made for two of our employees. Despite multiple emails, I received no response – which is completely unacceptable in the 21st century, especially from a business in the hospitality industry.Everything was prepaid and confirmed via email well in advance, yet our employees were met with an embarrassing and chaotic experience upon arrival. The staff claimed the rooms weren’t paid for, mixed up their names (they literally had one job), and treated them in a way that was utterly disrespectful and unprofessional.To make matters worse, we are still waiting for a proper invoice, and none of our follow-up emails have been acknowledged. It’s as if the hotel decided to completely ignore all responsibility once they had the money.This experience was a total disaster, and we will never make the mistake of booking with Bastion Hotel again. I’m just glad our employees are out of that nightmare. If you value professionalism and basic decency—stay away from this place.

  We returned to the Bastion in 2024 when we came to visit family in Broek again. We rented a car and the location was perfect for us. The hotel has paid parking and it is near the highway. For the most part, the staff was superb and accommodating. Housekeeping came every day and one man even offered to help me carry a bag to the lobby. I said no but I was impressed by his customer service. Daphne was at the desk a few times and management needs to know what a wonderful employee she is. She was helpful and kind, congenial and professional and made our stay special. Other desk people and servers were also pleasant. We were generally very impressed with the staff. After reading other reviews, I checked my bill again and was pleased to find we were only billed for the reservation and food/drink that we consumed. We complained to each other that the room was too dark, but found additional light switches at bedside 2 days before we left! However, the mirror/refrigerator area was dark. I liked having the thermostat in the room that adjusted quickly. My husband and I each had the giant schnitzel twice with choice of sauce for dinner. Mushroom sauce with the schnitzel was delicious! We're American and eat lunch. We tried to find a restaurant, but municipal parking is impossible. It would be nice if the hotel served a few different sandwiches. I'm sure other visiting nationalities would like that, too. However, we bought ham, mayo, etc and the employees had no problem letting us eat in the restaurant area. And they served us drinks. The sink in the bathroom drained too slow and backed up. We didn't complain as I assume housekeeping makes management aware of those problems. Our room looked out in the same direction as the restaurant - very pretty and green. I did not notice a lot of tourists here. This hotel is not within a short walking distance of shops or restaurants. All in all, we were content with our stay. It lived up to their promise of "good facilities for an attractive rate".

  Call them before starting your trip to be sure you have a room

  Made the reservation for September in June and without any notice 1.5 hours after confirmation of reservation, without sending any e-mail that something was not in order, they canceled it. Drove for almost 2000 km to find out that they canceled the reservation. Nice job guys. They say "the computer system/app is to blame. Is it?
