Good hotel with good, basic breakfast. Rooms are smallish but clean (bathroom as well). Staff is friendly. Location is wonderful as it is a few meters away from the underground that takes you straight to downtown Amsterdam.

AVOID * AVOID * AVOID Thefts At This Hotel!!!

    rating03 Sept 2025

We stayed at Hotel Campanile, Amsterdam, Zuidoost from 15-18th August 2025. On the morning of checkout, I discovered that both my Apple AirPods had been stolen directly from their case. There is no Safe in the rooms, however the doors are pretty secure. My AirPods were tucked away in a bag, within a bag in my rucksack. I had not used my AirPods whilst there. We asked for pillows to be taken up to our room on Saturday 16th. They were and this was the last contact my Apple account had with my AirPods. The initial member of staff I spoke with, Brayan Cifuentes, was polite, professional and sympathetic and asked that I wait for the manager, Eric Dasbach to speak with him about the theft. I waited almost 2-hours and watched a gentleman go everywhere but in my direction, only to find he was in fact the manager. I then had to approach him myself. Mr Dasbach was dismissive correcting me that I had 'lost my AirPods'. I asked if he could speak to housekeeping and if they had any new members of staff, he told me that was none of my business. Exacerbated with his attitude I asked for the name of the hotel owner. He told me 'Good luck with that he's somewhere in France'. The whole time he spoke in an accusatory and humiliating manner, smirking, rolling his eyes, interrupting me and even suggesting that I was inventing the theft for insurance purposes. I found the whole episode extremely distressing and upsetting and had to ask if he was taking me seriously more than once. After writing two emails to the Hotel Group, I finally got a response from Liesbeth Vans. The response was equally as rude blaming Mr Dasbach's unprofessionalism on a language barrier (there was none we both spoke perfect English) and accusing me of being rude to him A simple look at the CCTV will clear that one up! I have of course reported the crime to the police and have since seen it reported online on Bookings.com that another guest had their Prada purse stolen from their room during their stay in July 2025, so clearly thefts are not isolated incidents here. I strongly caution other travellers against staying here until the hotel address its serious security and management issues, which when highlighted to them, they simply deflect back onto their guests which I think is really concerning and extremely disrespectful. We were there for a festival in Gaasperplas Park and thought staying close by would work best, however following my experience and seeing the other theft online at this hotel, we've concluded that the Metro Line M53 is perfectly located for events in the park so any hotel along that line would be more than fine. The train lines are excellent, still running after the festivals in the park have ended and we'll also have the benefit of a great atmosphere on the train back!

Good Hotel, many advantages for staying in Amsterdam

    rating10 Apr 2025

Let me talk about advantages, Free parking, at bus stand, and at M53 metro to Amsterdam that cost 10Euro for the whole day traveling using App, hotel the guide you with QR code. Breakfast is good, home style managed by ANA, a wonderful person she is a Bee cares about Breakfast details like dealing with family members. The breakfast if compared with airports lounges, it is much better tines. There is a park behind the hotel, quite area nothing to do around. Unfortunately driving attitude could be challenging due to rush drivers.

The room is tiny and old fashioned!

    rating30 Oct 2024

The hotel leaves much to be desired! The only exception is a nice and friendly staff. I am really dissatisfied as the hotel holds 100 euro deposit and it's not still released back onto my account! They say to me, it will take about a month! That's ridiculous! It's the first hotel in my travelling experience that demands deposit! The beneficial thing about the hotel is free parking place. It's incredibly convenient for those who travel by personal car. Campanile Amsterdam, Gastenservice/Front Office at Campanile Amsterdam, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your experience though we hoped it would have been better. Your feedback is still valuable and can help others to make a profound choice. True that a deposit might be taken of € 100.- yet it is a reservation on a credit card not a payment. Actually it is quite common and we prefer to inform the guest which often is not done. In general if it is not used it will be set free by your credit card company within 10 (working) days.
