  Stolen suitcase. Taped windows, a completely unsafe lace with awful customer service.

  Avoid this hotel if you value safety, security, or basic customer service.Our 3-night stay at Citiez Hotel Amsterdam was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. From the first night, our room window was broken and would not close properly. It had no handle and was stuck open, leaving us feeling extremely unsafe. Reception simply told us the hotel was fully booked and there was nothing they could do until the next day.The next day we were forced to pack everything up, move all our luggage into storage, check out, and later check back into another room. Shockingly, the replacement room also had a faulty door lock that did not work properly, meaning once again we did not feel safe in the room.The problems continued throughout the stay. One evening we returned to find our room had not been cleaned at all, and staff showed little concern when we reported it.The worst part happened on the day we left. We stored our luggage with the hotel before our evening flight, only to return and discover one of our suitcases had completely disappeared. After weeks of waiting for updates, the hotel has now effectively denied responsibility, despite the suitcase going missing while in their luggage storage area.The handling of this situation has been incredibly stressful and disappointing. The hotel showed very little accountability throughout our stay, and the overall experience was chaotic, poorly managed, and completely unacceptable. We are pleased that the suitcase was never lost or stolen.We also regret the inconvenience caused by the maintenance issues you encountered and the room change during your stay. While our team worked to provide an alternative room as quickly as possible, we understand that this disrupted your visit.   Cannot complain about this place, it’s a hassle free, clean basic hotel that is definitely worth the money. We booked a small double, the room was small but the clue is in the title I suppose, it has everything we needed whilst staying in Amsterdam. City centre is very accessible by tram which is a couple of minutes walk away from hotel. All staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.   I stayed for three nights at this hotel, which is centrally located in the heart of numerous shops and restaurants. I was very impressed by how close it was to public transportation. It offered good value for money and is situated right in the city area. The staff were very friendly, and while the room was small, it was clean. There was no fridge, but a safe was conveniently located under the sink and mirror. The rooms are quite practical, and I stayed in the Panama room. Rooms are named after popular cities around the world. Breakfast was self-service in the hotel’s breakfast area located downstairs. I really liked this hotel and would definitely stay here again.   The staff are amazing!!!

  We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and from start to finish the staff couldnt have made us feel more welcome. Atila, Vinan, Maziyar and Marwa are the most kindest, friendly and caring people you could ever meet. They make the hotel a safe and inviting place to stay. The hotel rooms are small but have everything you need considering you spend most of the day out and about, so the size didn't bother us.The hotel is 40mins on the tram into the centre of Amsterdam, but with the help and advice from the wonderful hotel staff they helped us purchase a 3 day tram ticket which saved us money.All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel as the staff made it a wonderful experience for us!Take care guys and thanks for everything Chris and Lynn Team Citiez, Gastenservice/Front Office at Citiez Hotel Amsterdam, responded to this review Dear Chris and Lynn,Thank you so much for your wonderful and heartfelt review.
