  One of the better hostels I've stayed in. Can get VERY hot on a night and there definitely isn't enough bathrooms for the amount of people staying in the hostel, but overall a nice clean hostel in a convenient location. Bonus points for the size of the lockers in the dorms too.   Great location and Amazing staff!

  First time ever in staying in a hostel and I must say it was not bad at all. The first night we were with 2 other strangers who we only saw during bed time. The only downside to a dorm type accommodation is that you will have to lock up all your stuff each time you leave the room. You will also need to remove all your bathroom items after each use as there is not a lot of counter space really. The 2nd night. we opted for a private room with our own bathroom. This was more comfortable for my sister and I. The room, linens, towels and the bathroom are very clean. The staff are incredibly very friendly and accommodating. They do not rush you and they go above and beyond their duties to make your stay enjoyable. Especially Lorna at reception. She was very nice and attentive to everything around her. She anticipates and initiates helping not just the hostel clients and guests but also her colleagues. Lorna is very knowledgeable about the places we asked her about. She recommended places to see without breaking the bank. Lorna is an absolute asset to Clinknoord Hostel!The location is very convenient and accessible to the Amsterdam Centraal train station and downtown Amsterdam. I will definitely stay in this hostel again if I go back to Amsterdam. Thank you Lorna also to Luke who helped us move to a private room and was very pleasant to deal with as well.   I booked a 4-bed room with a private bathroom, but upon arrival, I was told it was no longer available. Instead, I was placed in an 8-bed dorm without a private bathroom—clearly a lower standard than what I had paid for.The explanation given was that their system had not been updated and the room was already sold out at the time of my booking, which is difficult to accept. It felt more likely that, because I arrived in the evening, my booking was reassigned or deprioritized.What’s particularly disappointing is that no refund or price adjustment was offered despite the downgrade. The only “compensation” suggested was a free continental breakfast, which does not come close to making up for the difference in room quality.Overall, this felt misleading and poorly handled.   Welcome to stuffy kindergarten!

  The Wi-Fi was very unstable and unreliable. I stayed in a private room with a bathroom, which was extremely stuffy. The window wouldn't open, there was no air conditioning, and the ventilation system didn't work properly (it seems like it doesn't work at all). I mentioned this to someone at reception, who said the ventilation system would work "gradually"... it didn't during the three days I was there. I tried to get a bucket of ice, but the bartender wanted to know what I needed ice for... I went to the supermarket to buy some.In short: very poor accommodation, very expensive for what it offers, and where people treat you with a kindergarten vibe.   Stayed in a double room. Was basic (expected) but clean. The mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The first night we were kept awake until 3.30am by a school group continuously screaming and running up and down the corridor outside our room; there seemed to be no teacher on our floor with them. We complained in the morning and the staff were very helpful and understanding. Noise wasn't much better the following night. We understand it's a hostel but there are signs requesting quiet after 11pm, but it seems if people don't respect this, it is not enforced. We enjoyed our meal on the first night.
