    Great Hotel

    rating10 Apr 2026

Great Hotel, very clean, great beds and shower, the rooms offer everything you need and more with daily cleans, fresh towels and complimentary bottles of water. It was a relatively busy atmosphere outside the hotel but not invasive and the trams can be heard passing by which I loved as we felt immersed into the city life of Amsterdam it’s a brilliant location to explore the city. I’d like to give a special mention to Chantal exceptional service above and beyond, we will be back..

    Great Location, Nice and Clean

    rating15 Mar 2026

Cute little hotel. Its located in a great location along the canal, walking distance to lots of places. We were on one of the top floors. The rooms are very spacious. We didn't really have a view, could only see rooftops. It was very quiet. They have an elevator but only to the 2nd floor on our side.(There is 2 buildings) we had to walk up 2 tight flights of stairs to our room. If you have mobility issues you might want to clarify with the hotel beforehand. There is a large step up into the tub to shower as well. It did rain while we were there and the hotel provided umbrellas which was great. We did not book the breakfast package. It was 22€ each for breakfast. Seemed a little pricey. We chose to walk around to find a place. It seems the city is limited for early risers, but you can find places. The room attendants seemed to be on a later time schedule to attend to the rooms. We got back to the room around 2:45 and they still had been to the room. They knocked at 3:30. We didn't really need it done, so we passed.

A Wonderful Place for an Anniversary!

    rating12 Mar 2026

We stayed at this hotel four nights for our 20th Anniversary, 26 Feb - 2 March. The hotel is fabulous, right on central Prinsengracht canal location, friendly staff, and historic charm. It's only 3-5 minutes' walk to Leidseplein from which several trams can take you to other locations. Right across the street is a local bakery, as well. The staff was stellar - SO friendly, accommodating, informative, and relaxed. The daily breakfast was more than filling for a day's excursion. One of the many lovely touches is the newly-renovated lounge with coffee and pastries and jazz music playing. It was open all day long. The staff, upon finding out it was our anniversary weekend, sent up a small bottle of champagne, two glasses, a card, and a small Delft kissing couple. What a delight! Because of the large rooms with huge windows, comfy bed, super cleanliness, and bright, sunny bathroom, it was a comfortable room. The staff and location have ensured we'll be staying here again. This was perfect for us and was a wonderful base from which to visit Amsterdam, a city we both love.

    Lovely for couples getaway

    rating04 Mar 2026

Had a lovely two nights here in early March. Booked as was attending a concert at Paradiso, which is a stones throw away. Location also excellent for museum district and Vondelpark, and easily walkable to the centre from here. Staff are all extremely friendly and helpful with no exception. We had a room facing canal on 4th floor. So great views and not too noisy either. Room was spacious enough and immaculately clean. Special mention for a very good shower! Didn’t book breakfast but the breakfast area and lounge both looked very inviting. We had compared prices across a lot of options and value for money was excellent here. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful hotel. Central and convenient. Great breakfast!

    rating25 Jan 2026

Really enjoyed our stay of 4 nights at Dikker and Thijs Hotel in early December ‘25– a quieter time of year. The hotel possesses real Amsterdam charm and comfort. Excellent location close to museums, restaurants, and the magical atmosphere of Amsterdam’s canal neighborhoods. The tram stop is conveniently located right out the door of the hotel. We had a 3rd floor room with large windows that opened overlooking the canal and activities below. The cozy room was pure, wonderful historic Amsterdam— quiet, bed excellent, great shower etc. — loved it. Good value. Clean. Welcoming and friendly staff. The basement area has an excellent breakfast every morning, the seeded wheat bread is the best my wife and I have ever eaten! The best hotel breakfast we had on our recent European travels. Viewed the parrots of Amsterdam perched in trees nearby! Highly recommend this hotel.
