This hotel is located in the in the famous red light district "De Wallen" close to the city centre, roughly 3 minutes walk from the royal palace on Dam Square. Amsterdam airport is located approximately 15 km away.

    Stayed here with 5 other friends visiting Amsterdam had a private 6 bed dorm ,rooms were comfy nice ensuite bathroom with towels provided and refreshed each day. Right in the middle of everything, look its not the Ritz Carlton but for location and price you won't beat it for a lads weekend.

    I had so many questions and Heart Hostel answered them every time that I emailed them. They responded quickly and thoroughly. POSITIVE: They location is the absolute best! Close to everything. We went with our 19-22 year old daughters and felt very safe. Everything was extremely clean. They have a vending machine in the lobby for treats and drinks. There is even a washetaria just a few blocks away. NOT SO POSITIVE: we loved how old and quaint this hostel is, but be aware that there is NOT an elevator and the stairs are very narrow and steep. This is consistent with the construction of older buildings in the area as well. We laughed at how it felt like a maze but we have great memories. We are older ladies so it was a little challenging getting luggage up but with the price and location it was totally worth it! We would book here again in a heart beat!!

    Great location, clean room and helpful staff. Beds were very comfortable. Our private room for 6 females was on the ground floor with easy access and everything we needed. Thank you heart of Amsterdam ❤️ great stay for my sisters hen do

    Uncomfortable, unpleasant smell, loud.

    We had a room for 3, it was really small and everything was pretty much over-used and old. It was not necessarily dirty, but dusty. The worst part was the bathroom that smelled of mould and very unpleasant canalisation smell. Moreover it felt like the walls were made of paper and the door seemed pretty unsafe too, throughout the night it was very loud in the building. The beds were way too soft, as in over-used, really uncomfortable. The staff at the reception was ok. For 170 Euros per night I expected more comfort and cleanliness.

    The location is great, love the friendliness of the Recreations all of them were so friendly. Good value for money than all these expensive Hotels .
