Immigrant hotel

Sadly our stay wasn’t the greatest. AC wasn’t working , Shagu a fantastic member of staff gave us a fan. No housekeeping on day one had to request towels etc. Room was small but had all you needed. The hotel is currently being used to house immigrants majority of which are older teen men. They take over the restaurant area and lobby area as well as outside seating at the hotel. We couldn’t sit and have a drink due to them laying around across the hotel also being vocal. We can imagine if you are visiting as a family this could be intimidating. People should be made aware of this situation. The hotel is close to the train station which is a positive.

Asylum Seeker/Refugee Hotel Basically

1st of all, we arrived and was met with youngsters playing football outside of the hotel as we approached the Hotel.Went into lobby- more youngsters strewn about the lounge areas. Booked in, paid extra 19 pounds tax.Went to our room, dodgy window so got to move couple doors down the landing, no worries. We asked for an extra chair as the was two of us. Didn't have a spare so had to use a poof. Room was clean bed was fab view great. Right by connecting trains to Amsterdam. (Make sure u buy region train tickets for unlimited travel awesome)Town was cute, dont expect a mega shopping experience but expect to live like the localsAnyway back to the my point. We established that the first 4 floors had refugees/asylum seekers, noise and lounging about at reception slightly intimidating but would be worse if female travelling on your own.Police presence keeping an eye.Hated having to write all this, when l questioned IHG they declined to comment of the status of the hotel. I understand its everywhere but l would Not of chosen a hotel that housed refugees as felt my belongings wasn't safe, felt like we was being watched too. Surprise birthday breakfast

Holiday Inn Express Almere - Tripadvis: Surprise birthday breakfastAs a birthday surprise beginning of January, instead of breakfast in bed, we went for breakfast here. It wasn't a big buffet, but enough choice to have a full belly. There was fresh fruit, juices and salads for those vegetarians. The staff was also nice, very welcoming, and before cleaning up they asked if we need anything else and they even let us stay a bit longer. We'll definitely go there again. Illegal immigrants are housed here, not safe especially for lone females.

The hotel is housing illegal immigrants. Please don’t stay here. It is frightening . The hotel restaurant is closed and there is no mention anywhere . The restaurant is only open to the illegals. This makes life very hard when you have booked 7 rooms for clients on a business trip. PLEASE DONT STAY HERE! Not again.....

The location of the hotel is exceptional when it comes to the geo location because it is in front of the central train station and literally at the beginning of the commercial center of Almere.The atmosphere is neutral, more like a transit hotel than a 4 star. The rooms do not have windows to open even a incline position to get fresh air and the aircondition in the room didn't work. In winter I had to sleep with my hoodie to get warm because the A/C didn't work even after I called maintenance, this is also relevant when you want to get a shower.... because you will step in a freezing cold room. Value for me is very low.... expensive rooms and breakfast and the experience is bad. Cleanliness not good also. The cups were not cleaned properly and I found dry milk and coffee from previous tenants.Noise level is good. When it comes to breakfast, I got some weird comments from the person in service that I am not in the list and they have to call to see what it going on in a way that shows that I have sneaked my way in..... Made me feel uncomfortable and I have solved it at once by going to the reception and found what the problem was.
