    Wonderful quiet stay away from AMSTERDAM bustle but CLOSE train ride

    Great location!! 10-14 min walk from TRAIN station. We used this as a base to travel to AMSTERDAM. which was a 6-8 min train ride from Haarlem. The hotel is close to the marketplace, lovely cafes, and shopping without a lot of tourists. There is a working windmill just a 10-12 minute walk. It was great coming home to HAARLEM after a busy day in Amsterdam and being able to find great places to eat and enjoy. We took the bus from Haarlem station back and it's only about 2-3 min. ride. The hotel room was quiet,, clean and spacious. SHOWER had the rainfall stream that was amazing. GREAT sturdy luggage stand. Friendly and helpful staff. Only inconvenience was not having a mini fridge in the room.

    This is a marginally acceptable hotel, and has some issues. First, on the plus side, the staff is very nice and helpful. Second, the location is fine for walking into the city center (sights and restaurants). Bus stops are nearby. The train station is a fifteen minute walk, not great if you’re dragging luggage. The issues: rooms had an odd smell. We didn’t accept the first room but the second still had an odd smell. The “quiet” rooms are to the back, but we weren’t interested in looking at a parking lot with another building. Temperature was difficult to control. Lastly, and most importantly, there was no telephone in the room. If you are from out of country and don’t plan on using your cell phone, in an emergency, you would have to exit the room, go the the desk, to get help. For seniors such as us, this is unacceptable. We didn’t think of this before hand, so lesson learned for us. Overall, probably better choices for more money.

    Nice hotel in a beautiful town

    Fun hotel in a good location. The room was clean and well equipped. The design is "youthful" and a bit more local than the ordinary Holiday Inn. Reception were friendly and helpful. Haarlem is a beautiful city. Like Amsterdam but quiet, clean, relatively free of tourists, and easy to walk around.

    Quiet rooms with everything you need. Super clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly. There’s a bus stop just across the street that takes you to the central station in for minutes.

    We arrived early from our cruise ship but had no problem waiting in the lobby. The staff was very accommodating.
