    Arrived late, half-asleep, and dreaming of nothing more than a bed before my early business meeting the next morning. Instead, I was greeted by a full episode of Check-In Chaos: Midnight Edition.The front desk couldn’t find my Booking.com reservation and confidently declared the hotel was full. A few minutes (and several puzzled looks) later, the booking magically appeared — and, surprise, so did available rooms!Armed with a key and hope, I made it halfway to my room before the receptionist sprinted after me to announce she’d given me the wrong one. Midnight confusion level: expert. I was just waiting for Basil to appear out of nowhere! The room itself was… functional. Let’s call it “retro minimalist.” The highlight? A Nespresso machine — because caffeine forgives many sins.Check-out featured another round of “Guess What Went Wrong,” but I’ll leave that one to the imagination. Let’s just say I won’t be rushing back for the sequel.

    A very nice experience recently at this hotel. It wasn't busy, so we were upgraded, which we appreciated. A big, clean, up-to-date room with a lot of windows. This was good because we both commented on the limited light in the room otherwise. Good A/C temp control for Summer weather. Wonderful shower and bedding (big bed), a modern bath tub though I didn't have time to use it. Welcoming and whimsical touches. Breakfast in their beautiful restaurant was very good, and we enjoyed relaxing at the bar the night we arrived. The Asian restaurant next door was excellent. If we'd stayed another night, I wanted to try the hotels restaurant. Located a quick drive or walk to both the center of Alkmaar (10 minute walk) or the stadium (5 minute walk). I know there was a Wellness area though we didn't have time to check it out. Ample parking just outside the hotel. We love Alkmaar and will stay here again!     I travelled here on my own for the West Ham game - perfect location for me near the train station and in a lovely street near the middle of town. I think I had the superior room which was plenty big enough. Spacious actually. Great service from the staff would recommend.
