  Seriously bad experience. Room absolutely baking and no air conditioning on and cannot open windows. . Guy on reception really didn’t care when I asked him for help. . Take it up with mgmt was his response !! . His attitude totally stunk. Spotted an ac unit in the corner so obviously not the first person to have this problem. Given that they know room gets warm you would expect them to do something about it. Avoid.

  Charming Boutique Hotel Let Down by Cleaning Issues

  The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to explore Amsterdam on foot or by public transport. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay, which added a positive touch. It has a charming boutique feel that gives it character compared to larger chain hotels.However, housekeeping was a noticeable issue. Cleaning seemed inconsistent, with coffee pods not being replaced and face towels removed but not replenished. The carpet didn’t feel or look very clean, and the timing of housekeeping was unusual, often happening late in the afternoon rather than earlier in the day.While the location and staff are definite highlights, improvements in cleanliness and housekeeping consistency would make a big difference to the overall experience.

  Lovely Central Hotel

  Stayed at the hotel Mai in Amsterdam for 3 nights, first thing we noticed was how close it was to the central station, 5 minute walk after leaving the station and very central. The hotel itself was lovely, quite quirky and the staff were all friendly and really welcoming, we stayed on the 5th floor and it was really quiet. The honesty bar was a nice touch, plenty of drink options and we had a few drinks in here each night prior to heading out. Location was spot on, a few minutes away from the red light district and a lot of bars and restaurants, Dam square is pretty close by too but nothing felt too far away even when we walked further afield. Our only negative points were that the room itself was quite dark — even with all the lights on, it still didn’t feel very bright. The room also didn’t have a mini‑fridge. This normally wouldn’t be an issue on a city break, but as it happened to be unusually hot in Amsterdam, having somewhere to keep drinks cool would’ve been really useful.The view wasn’t great, but we hadn’t paid for an upgraded room, and since we were only in the room to sleep and get changed, it really wasn’t a problem.. Overall a lovely stay, we would definitely recommend. Thank You!!

  Characterful hotel with welcoming staff and comfy, stylish rooms. Good location right by the main train station and transport links, but also within about 20 minute walk to all the main sites of Amsterdam.
